I just found this forum and website. What a resource for information! I'm reading through all the posts I can find, and I see there are several people looking for art/art history lessons for homeschoolers. I have similar concerns, but my field is architecture and architecture history. Much of art history in directly related to architecture (think cathedrals, stained glass, pyramids, Pompeii, etc.) and there is not really a great suply of lessons/literature written for elementary ages. I am currently developing a series of unit studies on architecture. It includes design principles, of course, but also historyand from a Christian perspective, drawing (floor plans, elevations, perspectives) and all the other disciplines that accompany architecture: vocab, math, science,etc. It is slow work because there is so much to teach, so much to learn about the thousands of years of art and architecture!
