C ommon O bject R equest B roker A rchitecture Gopalan Suresh Raj The CORBA Component Model (CCM) A Detailed Comparison of CORBA, DCOM and Java/RMI Coding a simple CORBA Server ... Download the source as a zip file My 4-part Article on Java IDL and CORBA Java IDL- Part 1 Java IDL- Part 2 Java IDL- Part 3 Java IDL- Part 4 CORBA defines a model that specifies interoperability between distributed objects on a network in a way that is transparent to the programmer. It achieves this by defining ways for specifying the externally visible characterestics of a distributed object in a way that is implementation-independant. This model is based on clients requesting the services from distributed objects or servers through a well-defined interface, by issuing requests to the objects in the form of events. An event carries information about an operation that needs to be performed including the object name (called an object reference ) of the service provider and the actual parameters if any.

Architecture for Health, Your Source for Medical Facility Design Services!
CORPORATE MISSION:
Architecture for Health was founded in 1999 by Brian Lathrop in order to provide specialized design services exclusively to health care providers. While our clients range from solo physicians and growing group practices to medical developers and hospitals, the firm's primary focus is in ambulatory care. Whether the project is for medical office, surgery, diagnostic imaging or rehab; our goal is to help our clients find the solution that makes sense not only functionally and aesthetically, but also financially. We believe that our specialization and unique approach allow us to provide services that are far more comprehensive and of exceptional value to our clients. This is evidenced by the fact that we have never produced a project that has not proceeded to construction. LOCATION:
Located in metro-Atlanta, Georgia (Roswell), the firm's focus has been in the southeastern United States. Mr. Lathrop does maintain a national board (NCARB) certification and will consider travel outside the region on a project by project basis. COMMITMENT TO EXCELLENCE:
Providing a complete range of traditional architectural services, AFH provides state-of-the-art medical space programming, architectural design and construction documents. Every project is given the full attention of the company's principal architect and founder to assure a successful outcome. All projects start with comprehensive budgeting and financial analysis so that fees are not wasted pursuing a direction that isn't financially feasible.

100 Houses for 100 European Architects of the 21st Century
Postiglione, G. (Ed.)
What if the person living in in a house is actually the architect who designed it? Obviously, and interestingly, architects' houses are an intriguing reflection of the needs and personalities of the individuals who created them. the houses themselves read like autobiographies, for the greatest challenge of all in building a house lies in weighing up and finding a balance between architectural aesthetics and the personal wishes of those who live there.
