PLAYFORD DISTRICT FIELD ARCHERS. PETHERTON ROAD, PENFIELD SOUTH AUST. Club Events page now updated. MERRY XMAS TO ALL. Merv's tips. Home Club Events Links ... and piccys WELCOME. FIELD ARCHERY. Field Archery is a sport for the whole family, at Playford Districts we have participants from 7 to 70. You do not have to be super fit ,there is no running involved ,just a leisurely walk around a 20 target course. Equipment is varied and ranges from high tech compound bows with carbon fibre arrows to traditional longbows with timber arrows and feathered fletchings. Targets are pictures of feral animals that have designated score zones. Scores are recorded from the amount of arrows shot and the target zone hit. After three consecutive rounds, scores are sent to the club score recorder who will assign a grade. Costs Costs for equipment can vary dramatically depending on which type of bow you want to shoot. Club members will be happy to give you advice on the various types of equipment available and where to shop. You must join the AUSTRALIAN BOWHUNTERS ASSOCIATION which gives you insurance cover and the opportunity to shoot at other ABA clubs and to compete at state and national levels. ABA costs are approx $70.00 a year for a single shooter with discounts for a family membership and pensioner rates.

2001 Archery Summit Estate

"Hot Wines"
"...the most exciting discoveries from our editors' most recent tastings..." They are high-scoring, low-production wines from around the world that may be difficult to find, but are worth seeking out.
The steep vineyard surrounding the winery in Red Hills packs this wine with intense flavor. It has a strong grip of tannin, but underneath it delivers a glowing core of plum, raspberry, pepper and black olive, which mingle beautifully as the flavors linger effortlessly.
2001 Arcus Estate
Another wine from a steep Red Hills vineyard, this one launches a blast of juicy, ripe blackberry and peppery, floral flavors without the hard edge of the estate vineyard bottling. It's rich and distinctive, almost aggressive at this point. Tannins are nicely submerged. Given time to soften, it should be a beauty. 2001 Red Hills Estate The toughest in texture of Archery Summit's 2001s is firm and chewy, with a swarm of tannins around - but not covering - a core of cinnamon-scented cherry and plum flavors. It all echoes beautifully on the refined finish. Best from 2006 - 2011.
