She's obviously motion sensitive because she reacts especially when making turns or on a curving road. Is there an herbal extract she can be given before the car trip and if so, where would I purchase and how much would I give her? I hate to use a sedative from the vet. A NSWER: Cats by nature don't like fast moving scenery like what happens riding in a car. Do you have her in a crate or is she loose? I would suggest a solid side crate with a cover over it so she can't see the scenery rushing by. Another possibility is Skullcap. Unlike other sedatives, it doesn't cause drowsiness or dull the reflexes or interfere with motor coordination. If you have a holist Vet, they can give you a tincture. If not, you can try the capsules and putting a little in her food before you plan to take her out. In all cases, she should be crated. Never leave an animal loose in a moving car.

Our wildlife has been hardest hit, with tens of thousands killed or injured. Wildlife groups around Australia urgently need assistance to help these animals. Assistance in the form of donations would be greatly appreciated if you are in position to offer this. Foster carers (for both domestic animals and wildlife) are also required. You may be able to help by supplying fresh fruit or blankets etc to an organisation in your area. If you are near a burnt out area of the bush, you may consider rescuing injured animals that you find. Make sure that you only enter the area if it is safe to do so and use thick gloves. Animals when injured are very defensive. Take a blanket or pillow case to wrap the animal in and a carry cage. Take the animal to your local vet or wildlife organisation. Again, if you are near a burnt out area, you may consider leaving water out for the animals when they emerge.
