LOOKING FOR LOVE IN ALL THE WRONG PLACES? When looking for that new family member please be responsible and do not purchase an animal from a pet store. Dogs from petstores are raised in Puppy Mills . By buying from one of these stores you are not only getting a poorly bred animal with a high risk for health and temperament problems you are supporting the torture of helpless animals.
It is estimated there are ten million homeless pets in the United States. Shelters, Humane Societies and Rescues have many purebred and mixed breed animals waiting for a home. PLEASE MAKE ADOPTION YOUR FIRST OPTION.
If you feel you must purchase a purebred puppy make sure you research the breed and only buy from a reputable breeder Circuit Training the Canine Way Dog Days in Grandview

Who We Are
Greetings from our 501c3 animal welfare organization, the Virginia Partnership for Animal Welfare and Support. Although we are mainly an EDUCATIONAL and SUPPORT group, we do provide a Spay/Neuter Program and Adoptions of a limited number of animals. OUR FOUNDING PRINCIPLES The problems faced by many companion animals today - overpopulation, neglect, abuse, abandonment, and euthanasia - can only be permanently resolved by addressing their causes. Most of this suffering can be traced back to irresponsible breeding, irresponsible ownership and inadequate animal welfare legislation and enforcement. VA PAWS seeks to ease and work towards the elimination of animal suffering through its five goals. The goals of VA PAWS: 1. Education and Public Outreach:

Health Benefits of Spaying and Neutering
Spayed animals no longer feel the need to roam to look for a mate. The result is that they stay home and have less chance of being involved in traumatic accidents such as being hit by a car. They also have a much lower incidence of contracting contagious diseases, and get into fewer fights. In males, neutering decreases the chances of developing prostatic disease and hernias, and eliminates the chances of developing testicular cancer. It also reduces problems with territorial and sexual aggression, inappropriate urination (spraying) and other undesirable male behaviors. In Females, spaying decreases the incidence of breast cancer (the rate goes down to almost zero if the spaying is done before the first heat cycle!). It eliminates the chance of developing a serious and potentially fatal infection of the uterus experienced by many mature unspayed animals (pyometra). Spay surgery also eliminates the heat cycle and associated mood swings and undesirable behaviors, messy spotting (in dogs) and the attraction of all available males to your yard. The simple fact is that spaying and neutering greatly increases the lifespan of your pet and increases quality of life as well!

We are also inconstant touch with WSPA (World Society for the Protection of Animals). Officials from this organization (WSPA) have visited us in Bodrum and have inspected our shelter/clinic, as a result of which we were informed to be the most succesful organization in the Aegean area. These officials also paid a visit to the then Mayor of Bodrum, Mr. Tugrul Acar, and expressed their appreciation at the support being accorded by the municipality to our association. WSPA has also donated various kinds of apparatus and equipment to be used at our shelter/clinic for which we are truly greatful. During the year 2000 Mr. Ian Winters from the Britain has visited us and neutered 35 animals, free of charge. Mr Winters had brought with himself all the necessary equipment and medications for these operations. On his departure he donated to us all that was not used.
