St. Kitts culture. In the 1950s and 1960s, St. Kitts and Nevis were politically joined with anguilla, though all three were still colonies.
http://www.timothybeach.com/culture.htm
St. Kitts Culture Christopher Columbus discovered the island in 1493, and named it St. Christopher after himself. Today, it is better known as St. Kitts. The British came in 1623 and founded the first British colony in the West Indies. After a period of association with Britain, the state of St. Kitts and Nevis attained full political independence in September 1983 and enjoys a democratic type of government. It has a population of 40,618, of which 31,824 live on St. Kitts and 8,794 on Nevis. Agriculture has significant potential due to fertile soil, availability of water and open land. Interest has been growing in the manufacturing sector in recent years. A Fiscal Incentives Law provides for duty-free importation of certain materials, plus a tax holiday of up to 15 years depending upon the nature and size of the investment. The government of St. Kitts and Nevis welcomes foreign private investment as a means of developing and diversifying its economy, and companies may be allowed to repatriate profits, dividends and imported capital upon arrangements with the Ministry of Finance. There are no exchange controls. Banking services are available through local and international banking organizations. Applications for registering a vessel under the St. Kitts and Nevis flag can only be considered provided a Nevis physical person or body corporate owns the vessel.

anguilla is yet to confirm whether or not it will be participating in CARIFESTA It will be dedicated to the celebration of arts and culture in the Caribbean
http://www.radioaxa.com/news_archive/July_03/local_030704.htm
04-July-03 Disaster Preparedness Coordinator calls for public participation in next week's Hurricane Awareness Day National Disaster Preparedness Coordinator Mr. Wycliffe Richardson is calling on the general public to participate in the 2003 Hurricane Awareness Day Exercise set for Wednesday 9th July. "The National Disaster Preparedness Committee which is headed by the Governor Peter Johnstone decided after a consultation with members of the public and private sector that a national hurricane awareness day should be held on Wednesday the 9th of July. Now this day is not new to the hurricane awareness disaster management calendar of Anguilla. It has been held over the years, but only Government Departments have been actually involved to a great extent in preparations for the day," he told Mirabelle West of Radio Anguilla News. Mr. Richardson continued: "We felt that this year there was a need for the public and the private sector representatives to be on board. So we had a meeting last month where we brought in people from the National Disaster Preparedness Committee as well as the Chamber of Commerce and the Anguilla Hotel and Tourism Association to discuss the day. The day has actually been set aside for the various Government departments and business establishments including the banks, the hotels and the stores to ensure that they test their Hurricane Awareness Plan. There might be some establishments which do not have plans so it is an opportunity for the shop owners to know where the hurricane shutters are, who is responsible for putting them up to ensure that if they have a plan."
