Ground-Penetrating Radar Showing Ancient Civilizations
by Paul White Since the declassification of the new ground-penetrating radar 2 years ago, the most staggering data has emerged of complex and labyrinthine underground systems in various parts of the world. At places like Guatemala in the South Americas, tunnels have been mapped under the Mayan pyramid complex at Tikal, which extend a full 800 kilometres to the opposite side of the country. Investigators remarked, it was possible to understand how half a million Mayan Indians escaped the decimation of their culture. In similar fashion, the SIRA radar was deployed in Egypt as early as 1978, mapping an extraordinary subterranean complex beneath the Egyptian pyramids. Arrangements made with President Sadat of Egypt, resulted in three decades of top secret excavations to penetrate the system. At a recent meeting in Australia, one of the key scientists on the Giza project, Dr. Jim Hurtak, showed film footage of work in progress called, CHAMBERS OF THE DEEP, due to be released at the end of the century. The film reveals the discovery of a vast megalithic metropolis, 15,000 years old, reaching several levels below the Giza plateau. While the rest of the Nu-Age speculates about a hidden chamber under the left paw of the Sphinx, the legendary "City Of The Gods", lays sprawled beneath. Complete with hydraulic underground waterways, the film shows massive chambers, the proportions of our largest cathedrals, with enormous statues, the size of the Valley of the Nile, carved in-situ. Researchers, risking their lives with lights and cameras, carefully negotiated rubber dinghies across subterranean rivers and kilometer-wide lakes, to penetrate sealed chambers beyond. Already, remarkable caches of records and artifacts have been found.

History of Mathematics in the Americas Mesoamerican cultures were among the most developed of ancient civilizations( see History of Mesoamericans ); they created a calendar to measure time, numerals to calculate finances and astronomy, glyphs to chronicle the lives of rulers, tables charting the movement of planets, and architecture that rival other ancient cultures in Africa, Asia and Europe. Geographical boundaries of the ancient Maya empire spread through the countries of Guatemala, Belize, El Salvador, western Honduras and the five Mexican states of Yucatán, Quintana Roo, Tabasco, Campeche and Chiapas (see map ), a total area is around 500,000 square kilometers. The ancient Maya civilization lasted for 4,000 years, yet it is often dismissed because, even though the Mayas built huge stone temples and pyramids, they lacked metal tools and didn't use the wheel or beasts of burden. But the early Mesoamericans fashioned tools harder than steel, and discovered the concept of zero (something that escaped the Greeks and Romans). One of the Maya's unique contributions to architecture is the Korbel Arch, also called the Maya Arch, which was formed by projecting stone blocks out from each side of a wall until they met forming a peak. This technique was a handy substitute for a true arch. The Maya also invented the wheel but, dismissing its usefulness, only used it for children's toys. Mesoamerican cultures and histories overlap and influenced each other through trade and commerce, architecture, astronomy, mythology, and so on. Mesoamericans had and wanted different resources, which led to the development of extensive trade networks that knit together regional economies. People in the highlands wanted salt, honey and cacao beans from the lowlands, and bird feathers and jaguar skins from the forests. People in the lowlands wanted jade, obsidian, basalt and grinding stones from the mountains, to carve monuments, figurines, masks, and jewelry.

Due to the declassification of ground penetrating radar, data has come forth to show us that huge underground tunnel systems and complex underground cities existed thousands of years ago right under our feet.
Places such as Guatemala in South Americas, tunnels have been mapped under the Mayan pyramid complex at Tikal, which extend a full 800 kilometres to the opposite side of the country. This tunnel system now sheds light on how half a million Mayan Indians escaped the decimation of their culture. SIRA radar was used in 1978 to map a subterranean compex beneath the Egyptian Pyramids as early as 1978.
At a recent meeting in Australia, one of the key scientists on the Giza project, Dr. Jim Hurtak, showed film footage of work in progress called, CHAMBERS OF THE DEEP, due to be released at the end of the century. As of yet, this footage has never come to light. The film reveals the discovery of a vast megalithic metropolis, 15,000 years old, reaching several levels below the Giza plateau.

Incan Indians
Humans have probably lived in Peru for more than 13,000 years evolving at the same time as the ancient civilization of Egypt. Beginning about 1250 BC, several advanced cultures, such as the Chavin, Chimu, Nazca, and Tiahuanaco, developed in different parts of Peru; however, the area was not unified politically until AD 1438, when the Inca set out from their base in Cuzco on a career of conquest that, during the next 50 years, brought under their control the area of present-day Peru, Bolivia, northern Argentina, Chile, and Ecuador. Within this area, the Inca established a totalitarian state that enabled the tribal ruler and a small minority of nobles to dominate an inert population. Like the Aztec, the Inca came late upon the historical scene; even their legends do not predate AD 1200, with the first emperor. For, like Old World peoples, and unlike other aboriginal Americans, the Inca recounted their history by kingly reigns. Most of the accounts agree on 13 emperors (see Pre-Columbian Civilizations: The Inca). The first seven emperors were legendary, local, and of slight importance; their traditions are full of impossible or improbable events, especially those of the quasi-mythological founder, Manco Capac. In this period the Inca were a small tribe, one of many, whose domain did not extend many miles around their capital, Cuzco. They were almost constantly at war with neighbouring tribes. The incredibly rapid expansion of the Inca Empire began with Viracocha's son Pachacuti, one of the great conquerors, and one of the great men, in the history of the Americas. Also with his accession in 1438 reliable history began, almost all the chroniclers being in practical agreement. Pachacuti was called by the British geographer-historian Sir Clements Markham "the greatest man that the aboriginal race of America has produced." He and his son Topa Inca may be aptly compared to Philip and Alexander of Macedon. Pachacuti was evidently a great civic planner as well; tradition ascribes to him the city plan of Cuzco as well as the erection of many of the massive masonry buildings that still awe visitors to this ancient capital.

35. Olmec Civilization
americas. Now scientists believe they have discovered the source a mother lodeof jade in Guatemala that could tell much about ancient American civilizations
http://www.crystalinks.com/olmec.html
OLMEC CIVILIZATION: 1200 BC- 600 AD The Olmecs were a culture of ancient peoples -1300-400 B.C. - of the East Mexico lowlands. They are often regarded as the Mother Culture of later Middle American civilizations. The Olmec people called themselves Xi (pronounced Shi). Olmecs had colossal heads some of which were deformed. Portrait of a man with said deformation. This life-sized greenstone head was found at Tenango del Valle, Mexico State, surprisingly a distance west from the Olmec heartland of Veracruz and Tabasco. Some researchers say they descended from Asia - others say they were from Africa. GEOGRAPHY The Olmec domain extendED from the Tuxtlas mountains in the west to the lowlands of the Chontalpa in the east, a region with significant variations in geology and ecology. Over 170 Olmec monuments have been found within the area, and eighty percent of those occur at the three largest Olmec centers, La Venta, Tabasco (38%), San Lorenzo Tenochtitlan, Veracruz (30%), and Laguna de los Cerros, Veracruz (12%). Those three major Olmec centers are spaced from east to west across the domain so that each center could exploit, control, and provide a distinct set of natural resources valuable to the overall Olmec economy. La Venta, the eastern center, is near the rich estuaries of the coast, and also could have provided cacao, rubber, and salt. San Lorenzo, at the center of the Olmec domain, controlled the vast flood plain area of Coatzacoalcos basin and riverline trade routes. Laguna de los Cerros, adjacent to the Tuxtlas mountains, is positioned near important sources of basalt, a stone needed to manufacture manos, metates, and monuments. Perhaps marriage alliances between Olmec centers helped maintain such an exchange network.

Archaeologists have uncovered startling new evidence
leading to the controversial conclusion that Atlantis is not a myth.
Could we modern Earthlings be the descendants of Ancient Astronauts ?
Where Have We Been? This Olmec Head (right) is thought to be over 3000 years old. The man's features are clearly African, but this giant 8 foot tall stone statue was found in the jungles of Mexico - and is but one of 17 so far discovered, in varrying stages of erosion from millennia in the deep jungle. One imagines, in any century, it is to be considered a high honor for someone to take the time to carve your likeness in anything even approaching the size of a volkswagon - thus, they were leaders, or heroes; certainly revered figures. Before Rome or Greece, or even the pharaohs of Egypt, there was a civilization, a dominant culture in Mexico from the Pacific to the Yucatan - and the people who posed for the Olmec Heads are known to have written in symbols almost identical to that of the Nubian, Kush, Vai and Mande tribes of West Africa. While his helment looks like something right out of the Bronze Age, on closer inspection, doesn't appear to have been made of metal at all - it could very well have been leather, or any form of cloth attributed to the time. Could it be simply a hat, or even a religious costume? The thing is, each Olmec Head is of a different person - with slightly different features, and slightly different hats.
