OnlineCollegePrep.com Our Course Catalog - 9 Courses Listed Course Descriptions Tuition and Fees: MAT 0001 Math Anxiety Reduction The major cause of anxiety over mathematics is the promotion of learning by memorization. People often wonder why the anxiety is attached to mathematics instead of English, Social Science, etc., and the answer is a combination of two facts: First, mathematics instruction frequently encourages (forces) memorization;and second, memorization without understanding is a guaranteed route to failure in mathematics, but may seem effective with other subjects. Students can be more aware of their learning problems and students can begin taking control of those situations where anxiety is created. This course aims its information at the student. $50 Tuition Instructor: Robert Hackwort h To Enroll
MAT 0002 Interactive Arithmetic
This course includes the common topics of arithmetic:
  • whole numbers
  • fractions
  • decimals
  • percents
  • ratio and proportion
The instruction is complete with all topics thoroughly explained and numerous examples. Nevertheless, the presentation is for those beyond elementary school age. Adults, especially, will find the presentation at their maturity level.

On-line courses are a distance learning approach to instruction where the classroom is the course website. Students and faculty communicate via the Internet, email, fax, mail, or telephone. To be successful with this mode of delivery, students must be self-directed learners who possess strong reading and writing skills. Since taking an online course is similar to an independent study experience, students need to be goal oriented and self disciplined.
All course sessions will be conducted at the student's convenience over the Internet. Thus, access to the Internet, and understanding basic Internet navigation is essential. Also, synchronous (same time) chat sessions may be required weekly. Students will be required to take examinations at the Blackwood campus at the College Testing Center.
