This course is designed for anyone who would like to refresh their algebra skills. Students will be given a solid foundation in algebra to help them succeed in their next math course. Additionally, the course will give everyone the opportunity to improve their algebra skills and apply that knowledge to specific majors. The course has been designed to give students the most flexibility. Since this course is on-line, students will be able to work at their own pace within reason. Dates will be given for completing a specific module, but those who finish early will be able to work on the next module. Students won't have to wait for everyone in the class to finish before moving on to the next topic. Most students should like this flexibility. The course includes: CD-ROM Video Lectures which will be provided with the textbook, an on-line tutorial (Mathxl) located at the Addison-Wesley Website, textbook readings, textbook assignments, and the ability to ask the instructor for help. At the beginning of the course, students will be asked to try all of these options and then choose two or three that seem to work best.
