Located just off of I-59, 40 miles north of Birmingham and 25 miles south of Gadsden, it is a convenient drive into both of these cities. A new courthouse has recently been built and the St. Clair County Board of Education is also located in Ashville. The library is located in the center of town. The John Looney Pioneer Homestead has been a tourist attraction for years.
