MEXICO CITY, Mexico (AP) Mexican Air Force pilots filmed 11 unidentified objects in the skies over southern Campeche state, a Defense Department spokesman confirmed Tuesday. A videotape made widely available to the news media on Tuesday shows the bright objects, some sharp points of light and others like large headlights, moving rapidly in what appears to be a late-evening sky. The lights were filmed on March 5 by pilots using infrared equipment. They appeared to be flying at an altitude of about 3,500 meters (11,480 feet), and allegedly surrounded the Air Force jet as it conducted routine anti-drug trafficking vigilance in Campeche. Only three of the objects showed up on the plane's radar. "Was I afraid? Yes. A little afraid because we were facing something that had never happened before," said radar operator Lt. German Marin in a taped interview made public Tuesday.

The U.S. Air Force has filed a futuristic flight plan, one that spells out need for an armada of space weaponry and technology for the near-term and in years to come. Called the Transformation Flight Plan, the 176-page document offers a sweeping look at how best to expand America’s military space tool kit. The use of space is highlighted throughout the report, with the document stating that space superiority combines the following three capabilities: protect space assets, deny adversaries’ access to space, and quickly launch vehicles and operate payloads into space to quickly replace space assets that fail or are damaged/destroyed. Images
The U.S. Air Force's Air Vehicles Directorate is developing a Space Operations Vehicle to serve as the reusable launch vehicle component of the proposed Air Force Space Command (AFSPC) Military Space Plane. The SOV integrated concept is not a specific design concept, but rather a set of capabilities. Desired attributes for the SOV include responsive on-demand launch, high sortie rates, short turnaround times, and aircraft-like systems operability.
The U.S. Air Force's proposed Long Range Strike Aircraft (LRSA) will use technologies enabling a rapid global delivery of force from bases located in the continental United States.

WASHINGTON (States News Service) Inspired by the flight patterns of migrating birds, Air Force researchers are developing a new generation of tiny satellites that would be able to fly in close formation. Satellites of a Feather Watch the satellites' orbital dance. The microsatellites weigh no more than 220 pounds (100 kilograms) and would orbit as close as 11 yards (10 meters) from each other. The spacecraft are dramatically smaller than traditional satellites and open new opportunities for orbital research. Because they weigh so little, the diminutive craft cost much less to launch and consume less fuel once aloft. More Stories

Married Military Couples

There are about 84,000 military-married-to-military couples in the United States armed forces. These days, it seems that more and more married couples are joining the military together, or very common falling "in love" in job-training or during the first assignment, and getting married. So, what trials do these couples face that aren't faced by a military member married to a civilian? Does the military guarantee to assign such couples together? If they live off base, how much housing allowance do they receive?

Air Force unlikely to reopen criminal cases in assaults
Roche: Investigation will produce 'constructive criticism'
Air Force Secretary John Roache talks at the academy Thursday. Story Tools RELATED Air Force Academy AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colorado (AP) Air Force Secretary James Roche said it's unlikely criminal cases will be reopened as investigators look into reports that female Air Force Academy cadets' rape allegations were mishandled. "If we have a case that warrants opening and that would be legal to do, we would do it," Roche said Friday in an interview with The Associated Press. But he said the investigation into how academy officials handled the allegations will more likely produce "a lot of constructive criticism" on how things can be improved. The scandal flared earlier this year. Since then, Sen. Wayne Allard, R-Colorado, said eight female cadets and 12 others who have left the academy have told his office they were disciplined for minor infractions after reporting they were sexually assaulted by upperclassmen. The allegations are as serious as the 1991 Tailhook scandal, when dozens of women complained they were groped or assaulted by drunken pilots at a Navy booster group's convention, Academy Superintendent Lt. Gen. John Dallagher told ABC's "20/20" on Friday.

U.S. Air Force Linked to Electronic Warfare Attack in Tennessee
By Alfred Webre, EcoNews Service (Vancouver, BC)
http://www.ecologynews.com/cuenews31.html
HARTSVILLE, TENN - Newly released documentary and eyewitness evidence now links an apparent July 6, 2001 electronic warfare attack on a radio station and weekly newspaper in Hartsville, Tennessee to a nearby unacknowledged secret access project (USAP). This secret project, eyewitnesses say, includes the U.S. Air Force as paymaster, U.S. government aircraft as transportation and security craft; military troops in black uniforms; and black unmarked triangular aircraft. The project may also include a secret electronic warfare unit capable of disabling nearby media outlets with destructive electromagnetic energy. It has now known that an official U.S. Air Force cheque was used to pay for the clandestine installation of massive telephone switching equipment at a defunct Tennessee Valley Authority nuclear power plant about five miles from the target media outlets. The private contractor who installed the unusually large switching system at a former nuclear power plant that is still officially defunct reported this to the WJKM investigators on condition of anonymity. Historically, the U.S Air Force has pioneered in the development and use of electronic warfare against civilian targets and populations, notably in the NATO war in Yugoslavia.
