    Coats for Kids has more to give
    Distribution of children's coats via the Coats for Kids program continues from 4 to 7 p.m. today.
    United Way spokeswoman Nancy Harding said nearly 500 coats were handed out yesterday. "But we still have a lot of quality coats left" for both children and adults, she said.
    While the weather is currently balmy, it is bound to get colder so parents are encouraged to prepare, she said.
    Those in need of coats can get them at the North Baptist Church, 750 County St., New Bedford.
    Historical society sponsors yule program
    WAREHAM The Wareham Historical Society is sponsoring a holiday program and dinner on Dec. 14, at the Old Methodist Meeting House on Main Street.
    A social will be held from 5:30 to 6 p.m., followed by the program "Victorian Christmas By the Village Florist, Onset. A hot-and-cold dinner Christmas buffet will be served from 7 to 8.
    Admission is $14.95 and reservations must be made by Dec. 7. To reserve a seat, call Carolyn McMorrow at 295-5369 or Kathy Hinman at 291-3098.
