Computer Resource Accounting System General Description The UW Computer Resource Accounting System is used to control access to computer resources and collect , accumulate and report on charges resulting from the use of these resources. An Oracle-based account database server maintains a set of tables describing the status of all accounts. Computer programs called resource agents send transactions to the database server to verify requests for a resource, process resource charges or refunds and report on the status of an account. Accounts User, Resource Agent and Admin Accounts Accounts are used to record information about computer users resource agents or account administrators Usage accounts ( role ='usage') are established to allow users to access and pay for computer resources. Resource accounts ( role =ra) are used to accumulate revenue earned by a resource. Administrative accounts role ='admin') are used to maintain usage accounts; each usage account is associated with an administrative account.
