The Travelling Naturalist Our team of leaders Peg Abbott Peg Abbott has been leading natural history and birding tours for over 20 years in diverse areas from Alaska to Argentina. She holds a master's degree from Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, and has explored the American Southwest in detail. She is an avid birder and has a master banding permit. She shares a keen interest in geology and natural history and looks forward to sharing her knowledge. While not leading tours Peg resides at the base of the Chiricahua Mountains of Southeast Arizona at Portal - no coincidence that this is one of the best birding spots in the US! Neil Arnold A partner in the company, Neil has been leading groups in the field for 35 years, first for the RSPB, and then in more recent years for us. In the past eleven years he has led over 100 tours for The Travelling Naturalist throughout the world. Neil's prime interests are birds and mammals, especially cetaceans. He also claims some knowledge of 'bugs', but only a nodding acquaintance with 'weeds'! His style of convivial, good-humoured leadership coupled with an amazingly good eye, notably for raptors and seabirds, has won him a loyal following, and a bulging file of fan mail, which he does get round to answering during his increasingly fleeting visits to the UK! Tony Beck Tony is a Canadian naturalist and professional photographer with a deep enthusiasm for his country's wildlife and wild places, especially the remote Canadian Arctic. He is a superbly skilled birdwatcher, with an easy-going and friendly approach to leading groups. He joins us once again to organise and lead our spring | |
