I The man of God is drunken without wine,
The man of God is full without meat.
The man of God is distraught and bewildered,
The man of God has no food or sleep.
The man of God is a king "neath dervish-cloak,
The man of God is a treasure in a ruin.
The man of God is not of air and earth,
The man of God is not of fire and water.
The man of God is a boundless sea, The man of God rains pearls without a cloud. The man of God has hundred moons and skies, The man of God has hundred suns. The man of God is made wise by the Truth, The man of God is not learned from book. The man of God is beyond infidelity and religion, To the man of God right and wrong are alike. The man of God has ridden away from Not-being, The man of God is gloriously attended. The man of God is concealed, Shamsi Din; The man of God do you seek and find!

  • Rumi: No. 1 in Afghanistan and the USA Translator Coleman Barks discusses the bestselling poet who's loved equally among Yanks and Afghans. By Amy Standen Coleman Barks, 21st century poet, likes to point out that Jelaluddin Rumi, 13th century poet, is both the bestselling poet in the United States and the one most often played on Afghan radio stations. Given the current situation, it's unlikely anyone will be able to confirm the latter. But it is fair to say that one thing currently binding these two warring nations is a poet born in a time when neither country existed. It would be a dissapointment if there wasn't a story about how Barks became the country's most popular Rumi translator. Rumi lore is studded with stories marking beginnings and endings and revelations. Nothing gradual happens to mystics. Life-changing events are spontaneous and total. Insight flashes; Teresa de Avila falls into an ecstatic trance, a crash, an explosion and everything is different.

Life and poetry of famous Persian poets, rumi, Hafez, Khayam, and Saadi.
    http://www.bestirantravel.com/culture/poetry/poetry.html
    Culture - Poetry
PERSIAN POETRY One of the most noble forms of Persian literature is poetry. Iranians highly value their poets who kept their culture and language alive even during numerous invasions. Persian poetry is as ancient as Avesta (the holy book of Zoroastrians ) where first form of poetry is documented.
Persian poets express their creativity in different forms and styles. The earliest poetry was of two types. One was the ballad and the other was the epic. The ballad later developed into different forms such as lyric, hymn, satire and panegyric. The epic poem is an enlarged ballad. Therefore, the origin of all poetry is in the ballad although no records have remained from these primitive ballads.
Persian songs goes back to 3000 BC to the time of king Jamshid. Xenophon wrote about songs that were sung when Cyrus the Great was still a boy. The halls of the Achaemenian palace at Persepolis echoed with the poetic singing of the tale of the romantic love of Zariadres and Odatis. ( Persian history The history of poetry and song during the time of Parthian rule is unrecorded. However, Sassanian culture cherished poetic art.

    Sufism on Allspirit
Sufism is the mystical branch of Islam and is a path of love and devotion. The aim of The Sufis is the removal of all veils between individual and God, Lover and Beloved. On Allspirit you can read poetry from some of the great Sufi mystics; Rumi Hafiz , and Yunus Emre. You can also find The Rubáiyát of Omar Khayyám If you could get rid
    of yourself just once,
    The secret of secrets
    Would open to you.
    The face of the unknown,
    Hidden beyond the universe
Would appear on the Mirror of your perception. ~Rumi

Be Lost in the Call Lord, said David, since you do not need us,
why did you create these two worlds? Reality replied: O prisoner of time, I was a secret treasure of kindness and generosity, and I wished this treasure to be known, so I created a mirror: its shining face, the heart; its darkened back, the world; The back would please you if you've never seen the face. Has anyone ever produced a mirror out of mud and straw? Yet clean away the mud and straw, and a mirror might be revealed. Until the juice ferments a while in the cask

If I've only been awake an hour and I'm already having a bad day, I don't want to think of what the rest of the day has in store for me.
    First, I woke up from having a terrible dream. Then I proceeded to leave on time to get to the gym, only to realize after having driven all the way there that I forgot my membership card in another sweatshirt (ironically, the one I was looking for earlier this morning, but saw another sooner so I just took that one instead), and to top this one off, my license was with my membership card. Third, I went to go get gas and what do I do? Lock my damn keys in the car. Why I chose to lock my car doors at a deserted gas station, I'll never know. And lastly, since I had to call Matt out to unlock my car for me, I made him late to work. ;_;
