The Essential Byron
- Book Review, by Muldoon, Paul
From the Publisher

Byron's mature style is wonderfully discursive, ranging from Aristotle through hitting the sack to hitting the bottle sack, while relishing the rhyme on "Aristotle" and "bottle" along he way; he reminds us again and again that poetry can be serious without being solemn, that it might even be fun.

Director: James Bruce Genre: Action Synopsis: Growing up in the roughest area of North Jersey, adopted brothers Mark and Tony were always "wise" beyond their years. As adults, the two have both found work as hired killers one for the Mob, the other for the CIA. When a scheme to embezzle millions in government funds is uncovered, the evidence points straight to the top of the Agency. The two brothers are drawn into the center of the action as they protect the nerdy hacker who is the only cyber-witness to the crime. Dodging multiple hit squads, they try to stay one step ahead of the army of agents and Wise Guys gunning for them. With the help of a childhood friend, the now-beautiful and sexy Laura, as well as the local Mob boss, they just might save themselves and catch the criminals in the process. If not, they could be the next ones who get whacked! Rating: R for violence Length: 91 Minutes Studio: Velocity Home Entertainment When will [FILL IN THE BLANK] be on video?

Paul Muldoon
Executive Director, Canadian Environmental Law Association Saturday, March 27, 1999 Thank you very much. I've got an apology to make. Right now I'm emotionally wrecked because I really don't know if I'm hopelessly pessimistic and depressed or endlessly energized. So I just can't figure it out. So if my speech goes, whimpers away and gets really excitable and giddy you'll know that's why. I think the message is two things. One, is where we are, and two, where we have to go. I'll put a few things in in terms of what Canadian Environmental Law Association is doing. I've just got a few overheads and I'll put the first one up. Where we are is simply this. I want to give you some just quick pollution facts, and they are facts because it's all industry information. The current data is that each year in Canada 200,000 tonnes of pollutants are released in the environment legally. This according to the National Pollutant Release Inventory . It's a databank that's put together with industry information by Environment Canada. So this is not some crazed environmentalist telling you that these are the numbers. This is industry data. A US inventory has the same model. And when that model is reviewed, it found out that this probably only represents five percent of actual emissions. Because this is only the big polluters, this is the big industrial facilities. So that's 200,000 tonnes per year, 13,000 tonnes of that are suspected or actual carcinogens.

It consists largely of oral or literary works in which language is used in a manner that is felt by its user and audience to differ from ordinary prose. It may use condensed or compressed form to convey emotion or ideas to the reader's or listener's mind or ear; it may also use devices such as assonance and repetition to achieve musical or incantatory effects. Poems frequently rely for their effect on imagery, word association, and the musical qualities of the language used.
