Biographie et bibliographie d'attanasio, l'auteur de Radix vu que personne n'a réussit à le finir et que les rares rescapés n'y ont rien compris. attanasio seraitil trop fort
http://www.cafardcosmique.com/auteur/att.html

‘Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home’ (PG)
By Paul Attanasio
Washington Post Staff Writer
November 26, 1986
There is something automatically comical about a floppo TV series generating one of the most successful strings of movies in history, and the makers of "Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home" have chosen to join in the fun. The result is a loose, jovial, immensely pleasurable Christmas entertainment that promises to be the biggest hit of the season. In "Star Trek IV," the crew of the starship Enterprise travels from the 23rd century to our own time, in search of (I kid you not) humpback whales. It seems that an alien probe has approached the Earth looking for the whales, which, we're told, became extinct in the 21st century; in the process, the probe is destroying the Earth. So Admiral Kirk (William Shatner) figures the only way to save the Earth is to save the whales. What follows is a comedy along "fish out of water" lines, as the voyagers learn their way around pizza and beer, money and what we call modern technology. Dr. McCoy (DeForest Kelly) wouldn't be "Bones" if he weren't steamed up about something, and here, it's the medical practices thatseem positively medieval to a 23rd-century eye. And there's a hilarious running gag in which Admiral Kirk tries to teach Captain Spock (director Leonard Nimoy) how to swear like a sailor. Shatner and Nimoy develop a delicious rhythm together, with the emotionless Spock providing the straightest of straight men, a sounding board for Kirk's sardonic arpeggios. Having begun his career on the Shakespearean stage, Shatner presumably feels superior to the silly stuff that has made him a rich man, but he makes that feeling work for him. He builds Kirk out of smarmy aplomb, the aggrieved unctuousness of a foppish king in exile delivering his lines with mock portentousness, moving with a dainty swagger. And the fish out of water formula suits the rest of the "Star Trek" cast perfectly. In heavy makeup and futuristic pajamas, they look like a chorus line of drag queens they'd look out of place anywhere, in any time.

And what makes it most powerful, perhaps, is the knowledge that the family is, at least in part, drawn from Simon's own. As meticulously recreated by production designer Stuart Wurtzel, the time and place of "Brighton Beach Memoirs" is unmistakably Brooklyn, 1937. Eugene Jerome (Jonathan Silverman) dreams of becoming the center fielder for the New York Yankees or, failing that, a writer. But mostly, he dreams about his cousin Nora (Lisa Waltz), who along with her widowed mother Blanche (Judith Ivey), lives in the Jeromes' house. In fact, Eugene dreams about all women, from the neighbor he spies on to the naked Africans in National Geographic, as Simon interweaves his lust as a running gag. But laughter is not entirely what the Jerome household is about. Eugene's mother Kate (Blythe Danner), filled with a bullying sort of love, endlessly nags, worries about and criticizes her brood; his father Jack (Bob Dishy) is good natured but weak. And when Jack becomes ill, it only brings out the worst in Kate and Stanley (Brian Drillinger), Eugene's older brother.

14. ‘The Color Of Money’ (R)
Review of the film by soonto-be acclaimed screenwriter Paul attanasio.

This movie won an Oscar for Best Actor (Paul Newman.)
‘The Color of Money’ (R)
By Paul Attanasio
Washington Post Staff Writer
October 17, 1986
From the first frames of "The Color of Money," you feel, almost physically, the presence of a man singularly obsessed with the romance of movies. In this movie, Martin Scorsese enters a new period in an already extraordinary career. It would be hard to exaggerate the complex pleasure and wonderment that "The Color of Money" conveys. The film is a sequel of sorts to Robert Rossen's classic 1961 film "The Hustler," with Paul Newman reprising his role as Fast Eddie Felson. Once the top pool shark in the country, Fast Eddie is older, richer and not all that fast anymore, a liquor salesman given to cashmere and Cadillacs. Delivering his sales pitch to an appreciative pool hall owner (Helen Shaver), purring the virtues of his cheap bourbon with a lulling detail (he's not just selling, he's seducing), Fast Eddie is interrupted by the crash and clatter of a "sledgehammer break," the calling card of Vince Lauria (Tom Cruise). Vince is a thoroughbred pool player, a natural, and once again, Fast Eddie Felson is captivated by the allure, and the money, of big-time pool. A self-styled "student of human moves," Fast Eddie sets about maneuvering the naive Vince screen writer Richard Price artfully captures the drama of psychological manipulation, as Fast Eddie plays on the kid's insecurities, particularly with regard to his girlfriend Carmen (Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio).

16. ‘Radio Days’ (PG)
Review by Paul attanasio (negative),
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/style/longterm/movies/videos/radiodayspgatt
[an error occurred while processing this directive]
‘Radio Days’ (PG)
By Paul Attanasio
Washington Post Staff Writer
January 30, 1987
"Radio Days" returns Woody Allen to the constricted ambitions that, until "Hannah and Her Sisters," characterized his recent work whatever "Hannah" liberated in him was, apparently, liberated for one movie only. As always, you appreciate Allen's effortless satire, his seriousness of purpose and dedicated craftsmanship. But without a story or, for that matter, any theme but a kind of aimless nostalgia, you peel and peel away at it only to find, in the end, nothing. As narrated by Allen in voice-over, the movie centers on a boy, Joe (Seth Green), growing up in Rockaway. As he remembers it, his '40s childhood was suffused with the pleasures of listening to the radio. Composed as a sort of collage, "Radio Days" crosscuts from Joe's contentious family to radio sketches, from family anecdotes to old broadcasting tales. Bridging the gap is the vague resonance between two stories: Joe's aunt Bea (Dianne Wiest), who just wants to get married (and therefore can't), and Sally White (Mia Farrow), a cigarette girl who wants to make it in radio (and finally does). But while Allen's ear for mimicry is as sharp as ever (particularly in a bit satirizing a "Sports Legends" show), the radio stories and the family story aren't woven together in any meaningful way. Music, too, might have held the movie together. But the period tunes (compiled by Dick Hyman) are mostly familiar; worse, you never feel that they're woven into these people's lives in the way that you did, say, in Herbert Ross' "Pennies From Heaven."
