Bio For: Mike Grant (A.K.A. Psych Opath)! Name: Michael A. Grant - Marital Status: Single (still looking) - Kids: (I *think*!) ;-) Mike was born in 1964 in Halifax, Nova Scotia. He lived there until the age of 13, when his family moved to the outskirts of Dartmouth, N.S., to what was then a new sub-division called Cole Harbour. There he attended Sir Robert Borden Junior High and Cole Harbour High Schools between the grades of 7 and 11. As a child and teenager, Mike was always interested in science and technology, along with, of course, the great Canadian passion for the game of Hockey. Mike played in organized leagues from the age of 5 to 19, and was best friends with a kid named Jackie Young when he was around 10. Jackie is the older brother of Wendell Young, who became an NHL goaltender, playing mostly for the Pittsburgh Penguins. Often Jackie and Mike would play one-on-one street hockey with Wendell in goal. Mike still plays an occasional pickup game at the local arenas. The Grant family moved to Calgary, Alberta in 1981, as Mike's dad landed a job with Dome Petroleum, which was at the time the largest oil company in Western Canada. Mike finished High School at Dr. E.P. Scarlett High, and attended Mount Royal College for two years, after which Mike's dad was laid off from Dome Pet., and Mike was forced to work for a living. In 1985, Mike landed a job as a dental lab trainee. "Dental lab? What's that?" Mike wondered, but he needed a job, and Crappy Tire was slightly unappealing as a career, so he gave it a whirl. A dental lab is where dentists send impressions of your mouth for crowns, bridges and inlays to be made (replacement teeth). Mike aced the hand-eye coordination and depth perception tests, and a dental technician was born.
