MOTOR SPORTS Motorcycle Tired of the long and exhausting hitchhiking legs in 1956 I got a 250cc Jawa motorcycle. It made the journey to the Alps and especially moving there from place to place much more convenient. A year later I could not escape from participating in some motorbike races like the International 3 Days' Trial. In spite of the name the race was not any trial, but true enduro. For me it was certainly not a success. Later on I saw the delivery van of the Koneliike on the roadside of a small hill. They represented the Jawa bikes in Finland and were there to help the 'professional' Jawa drivers. I wanted to show them how a privateer could drive and zoomed up the hill. The men in their bright overalls waved with hands, and I thought they were encouraging me. Only too late did I realize that immediately after the hilltop the road curved strongly to the right. The bike skidded to the side of the road and into the ditch, and before that I was flying head first against the other side of the ditch. Probably I lost consciousness for a time, but then I was pulling the bike back to the road. The Koneliike guys came running to help me and saw the situation. They invited me to their service, gave something refreshing to drink and at the same time tried to straighten the distorted handlebar. Only when they found out that I had recovered a bit they let me continue the ride.

In-Jokes in Due South
Ever wonder where the names of our favorite Mounties and cops and wolves came from? Or wondered why Fraser asks "Are you related to....?" That's because the writers have inserted in-jokes related to famous (or infamous) Canadians. Occasionally, an American slips in. All explanations are fan-theorized, unless otherwise noted. Most likely named after the American politician of the same name, Thomas Edmund Dewey * (1902-1971). It's possible the producers were also looking for the last name Dewey, because of the 'Duckboys' heritage: Louis Gardino and Jack Huey were called the 'Duckboys' by Ray Vecchio, most likely in reference to the Disney character Donald Duck's nephews.

My thoughts about Christmas Birth announcement Classical music Classical music, please Magazine rewiew about sugar ... Dear Santaclaus!
My thoughts about Christmas I like Christmas very much. I think it’s the best time of the year. In autumn, when it’s cold in the mornings and there’s frost on the grass and the trees, I remember that Christmas is coming. At the end of October I start to sing and listen to Christmas carols and light some candles. My mum says it is too early, but never before have I grown fed up with this. At Christmas I can relax properly. I forget all that which it connected with school. When it’s dark, snowing and Christmas lights are lit, people wish merry Christmas to each other and forget that they actually are busy. Gradually people get the Christmas message. The most I like is the evenings just before Christmas, when all the family gather in the kitchen. Then we make christmas food (not Dad and the boys) and talk about Christmas. In the evenings we make parcels and wrap them in the Christmas papers. I like it. It’s lovely to wake up in the morning of Christmas Eve and realize it’s Christmas. Before the Christmas lunch we decorate the Christmas tree. Later we go to the cemetary and after that we visit Grandma. At home we go to thesauna and after that we eat rice porridge. Then come Grandma and other relatives. Santa Claus comes in the evening and

    The NHL's Dirty Dozen
During the trench warfare of the Stanley Cup playoffs, these are the guys you want to carry out your mission. They might not score, but they set the tone by stretching the rules with in-your-face hockey.
    TOUGH GUYS
    OF THE EAST Matthew Barnaby
    Buffalo Sabres
Barnaby's goal scoring fell from 19 last season to five this season. His feistiness had no noticeable decline. Even though Barnaby's career with the Sabres probably will be over this summer because he has had a falling out with management, he still could be a significant factor in the playoffs. He's a big hitter, a momentum changer, a psyche disturber. He's the guy in the Civil War movie who picks up the dropped flag and carries it straight into cascading cannon fire. He has never had an NHL playoff goal, but you wouldn't bet against him getting one if the game is on the line. He goes to the net like a bullet train on a rush-hour run. Barnaby has the potential to be to this year's playoffs what Randy McKay and Mike Peluso were to the 1995 playoffs and Kirk Maltby was to the 1997 playoffs.

    Czech Republic Wins Gold
Czech Republic won its first Olympic Gold medals in hockey with a 1-0 victory over arch-rival Russia. Petr Svoboda scored in the third period and Dominik Hasek was again perfect in the net recording his second shutout in the tournament. "I got lucky, man. It's a great faceoff. The guys gave me time to look, and it just went through," Svoboda said. "We all feel like heroes here. We had a great team." Before the tournament started nobody would pick the Czechs to win it all. Favorites were the USA, Canada and Sweden with their NHL-star filled rosters. None of those teams won a medal. "I knew we had a great team," defenseman Jiri Slegr said. "I told everyone if we play as a group, we can win it all. Everyone laughed. Now we're laughing." Before Czechoslovakia split, it won four silver medals and three bronzes but could never get the gold.
