BOSTON - Defenseman Tyson Teplitsky's end-to-end rush at 11:43 of overtime propelled top-seeded New Hampshire to a 1-0 victory over fifth-seeded Boston University before 16,763 at the FleetCenter in Saturday's championship game of the 2003 Hockey East Tournament. Teplitsky's backhander deflected off a Terrier defenseman and past goaltender Sean Fields and gave the Wildcats their second-consecutive league tournament title. In stark contrast to the two semifinal games which saw 20 goals between them and scores of 5-4 and 6-5 (OT), neither team was able to crack the scoreboard in regulation of the championship tilt. Boston University (24-13-3) carried play in the opening period, showing no signs of fatigue after playing the longest semifinal in Hockey East Tournament history (85:00) the previous night. The Terriers out-shot the Wildcats, 12-5, and continually kept play in the UNH zone, but was able to generate any quality scoring opportunities in the first 20:00.

Rangers Not Rotten to Core So the Rangers haven't won in like two or three years. Maybe not that long, but it's been a while.
Some say that the Rangers don't have a horrible foundation, though, and that all might not be lost for the franchise.
OK. Maybe not some, but definitely me
The Rangers may be pretty brutal to watch now but a chassis of youth and grit is emerging. If management—and this is a huge if; somewhere along the lines of if cats could rollerskate—loads up on some experienced, lunchbucket players who love to hit, then the Rangers will be a playoff team sooner rather than later.
So whenever hockey starts up again, the Rangers might not be a bad team to keep an eye on. Posted by Steven Ovadia on Friday, April 02, 2004, 08:42 AM Canadiens Caneed to Win Philadelphia got their groove back, beating Montreal 2-0 last night
What's up with the Habs?
They haven't won a game since Mar. 20, which to be fair, was over the pretty good Devils. Although to be even more fair, the Devils have been having trouble beating teams who are actually heading into the postseason.
Montreal has now dropped five in a row. That's no way to head into the playoffs.

History of Friday Night Hockey Friday Night Hockey began on a Friday in October 1970 at the Joyce Junior High School rink in Woburn, MA. Sources tell us, that the hour was 10:15 PM to 11:15 PM and the cost was about $30 per hour. What began as a friendly, family outing has grown into a tradition that has seen over 600 different players. We are attempting to create a list of all who have ever played Friday Night Hockey..... if even for only one night. Many of those 600 no longer play, some are deceased and a few actually still play Friday Night Hockey. The rink is the same but the hour is now 9:40 PM and the cost about $150. It is amazing that after thirty years... the tradition continues.

Friday Night Hockey Honor Roll A list of all those that have played Friday Night Hockey - even if only once. (I've also included some distinguished personnel) Please notify me @ Goaler if you know of anyone who should be added to the list.

    http://www.durhamcityhc.org.uk/m1-111003.htm
Men's 1st Team - 11-10-03 v Gateshead II Durham City (3) - Gateshead (3) After rearranging the fixture again and again we eventually got the game to go ahead at Gateshead stadium. Where they have had their pitch relayed. Mind you it needs cutting, its like playing on grass again. (So Steve says anyway. I think he’s the only one who can remember those days) And with the injured Dave Tudor umpiring (yes apparently he knows the rules. Strange really coz he doesn’t seem to play by them) So 3-2 it was at half time. But with plenty of action to come!!! I came away with the ball in the centre of the park, past one and another then a third…all of them with lovely stick tackles or body checks on me. Which Dave. T picked up on and sent the first packing. So, with them down to ten it was our turn to press. From the hit Dave and I worked it out to Rich who drove down the right and cut it back to Ian who was tightly marked and the ball came free to me at the edge of the ‘D’ and with all the time in the world I try one of my famous (you cant do em) drag flicks and send it flying wide about 3ins off the floor. So back on comes their 11th player and back down our end we go, Andy’s man gets passed him and like a baby monkey he tries climbing onto his back. It looked like he was playing leap frog not hockey. And sure enough he was called over and given a lovely glowing yellow card. Yes that’s right 2 in one game!!!! But in his defense if he hadn’t have been sent off earlier I don’t think he would have walked. But there you have it persistent fouling will get you sent off. So down to ten again! And they had short corner after short corner. Must have been about six in a row. And if it wasn’t for Denty’s saves we would have been well down. But as the pressure piled on from a short they slipped it right which I should have closed down much quicker than I did, they scored but only just as Denty got his stick to it, but it slipped in the far post. 3-3.
