    Fairytale about Pasi Nurminen
    Jani

    Date: 16-05-01
    Language correction: FlyBear
After a succesfull career and a happy life, Finnish goalkeeper Pasi Nurminen died and went to heaven. At heaven`s gate, God Himself was waiting for Pasi. God says, "Pasi you were such a great goalie that I've given you the best place in heaven." So they walk down the main street of heaven and Pasi sees the houses become more and more beautiful. In every house`s garden, there was the flag of a different country. God says, "This is the home of Tommy Salo" and shows Nurminen a great house with big Swedish flags in the garden and other Swedish flags formed by flowers in the garden.

Russian Prospects Great Sites Rangers Team Analysis for 2001-2002 NHL Season People already think of Nedved being a LW on the first line, I thought that too. But, there is a problem with that, who will protect Lindros on that line? Fleury is a feisty forward, but he will not check someone hard, and Nedved can use his size a bit, but he is a classy skater. I kept thinking to myself, why did Sather get Zdeno Ciger and Andreas Johansson? Well, I got the answer to that for a bit later, but this is how hard Sather made me work to get the lines right: 1st Line = LW- Nedved, C- Lindros, RW- Fleury 2nd Line = LW- Malhotra, C- Messier, RW-Dvorak 3rd Line = LW- Ciger, C- York, RW- McCarthy/Lundmark/Grosek 4th Line = LW- Stock/McKenna, C- Johansson, RW- Lundmark/Grosek/Samuelsson To me, those look like good lines. The 1st Line looks like a killer, the 2nd looks good because they have good chemistry as last season, the 3rd looks like the sneaky line, and the 4th is a tough line that can chip in the lucky goals. Why did I list Nedved as a LW? In his Penguins days, Nedved played as a LW with Jagr. But, after I searched for the training camp information I saw a different 1st line, which was a surprise to me. As I mentioned earlier, the 1st Line had a problem with physical help, meaning no muscle besides Lindros. This is the current line used in training camp:

By Chris Parsley February 5, 2004 Banana Split In a pre-game interview with St. John’s Maple Leafs’ broadcaster Brian Rogers on the big screen at Mile One Stadium, head coach Doug Shedden said Wednesday night that he didn’t want another “banana split” in the two-game series against the Syracuse Crunch. But after winning the first game at home against the division rivals, a split is exactly what Shedden got as he watched his team sleep-walk through Wednesday’s contest and lose 4-2 to Syracuse. Given the fact the Baby Leafs had just one win and 5 defeats overall on their week long home stand, Shedden should have been hoping for more “banana splits”, not less. “Every night somebody else has made a bonehead play,” said the St. John’s coach in describing when went wrong on the home stand.

By Chris Parsley March 1, 2004 This past weekend saw two of the better games this season at Mile One Stadium in St. John’s as the Baby Leafs swept the Portland Pirates with 3-2 and 3-0 victories. Sebastien Centomo was great between the pipes for St. John’s, earning both wins including a 42-save shutout Saturday night. The veteran players came through for the Buds on the scoreboard with Harold Druken, Josh Holden, and Aaron Gavey scoring Friday, while Druken, Holden, and Clarke Wilm dented the twine for St. John’s in the second game of the series. With 20 games left in the season, the club’s leaders will have to continue to show the way as the Leafs try to catch the Rochester Americans and Toronto Roadrunners for a playoff spot. “We’ve been trying to do the best we can to make this team successful because we all look good when the team plays well,” said Gavey when asked about the veterans’ role down the stretch. “We’re trying to be more involved and be the leaders out there.”
