SENATORS ASSIGN DEFENCEMAN SEAN GAGNON TO GRAND RAPIDS
Kanata (Ontario) - The Ottawa Senators today announced defenceman Sean Gagnon was assigned to the Grand Rapids Griffins of the International Hockey League. Gagnon underwent surgery to his left wrist prior to the 2000-01 training camp and did not participate in camp or any of the Senators first five regular season games. The 27-year-old signed with the Senators as a free agent July 7, 2000. Last season, Gagnon registered three goals, five assists and 183 penalty minutes in 42 games with Jokerit-Helsinki of the Finnish Elite League last season. FOR MORE INFORMATION, PLEASE CONTACT:

23. Hockeybird.com: MICHAL, IGOR, MIKE, TERRY, SEAN – AND BILLY
He got mediocre ice time, starting out with sean gagnon. sean looked pretty pissedto be stuck with him coaching his first hockey game ever on Wednesday night.
http://mt.hockeybird.com/archives/000811.html
MICHAL, IGOR, MIKE, TERRY, SEAN – AND BILLY Sunday - March 03, 2002 First off, Grosek - he’s finally in New York! The bad boy has apparently been given yet another chance, remarkably, and I am assured, totally coincidentally, when Mess had season ending surgery. We are already feeling the loss, but that is what being a farm team is about. We all cheered when we saw Michal driving Cechmanek and the rest of the Flyers insane on Saturday, and were proud when Eric Lindros cited him as a huge asset for the game.
Now’s the tough part – will he keep it up? Michal needs to be in a position of perceived importance – he doesn’t play the role of the third or fourth line lunchpailer well. If he can keep his spot on Eric’s line – then I think he will excel. But the moment he gets badmouthed by management or demoted a line or three, I think the ‘difficult Grosek’ will return with a vengeance. So keep him up there, or trade him while he’s still flying high.
And what did we get in exchange?
Well, I arrived at the civic center a few minutes late for Friday night’s game. Hurrying down the steps to my seat for warm ups, I spied a #26 jersey for the pack, something we haven’t had since Ryan Bast left us after last season. Then....I see it. Ulanov.
I have to admit, my response, a sort of moan of terror, may have been a bit much. But I don't think it warranted the scolding I got from another fan. She pulled me aside later to tell me that I had been very mean to poor Igor, and that I should consider how badly he must feel about being sent down. She felt I had hurt his feelings, and that wasn't nice. Come on. It’s a 15,000+ seat arena. Do we really think a) Igor noticed my reaction b) Igor knew I was reacting to him c) Igor gives a fuck what I think?

Welcome : The Seahawks would like to announce that a trio of the CEHL Champion Metro Fighting Moose have decided to attend Wagner next season. Please welcome right wing Graig Miller, center Shea Vandenvort and top goalie Ben Morris. Welcome : The Seahawks would like to announce that Iona Prep forward Anthony pircio has agreed to attend
Wagner next season. Welcome : The Seahawks would like to announce that Tottenville's Anthony falcohas has agreed to attend
Wagner next season. MCHC's Response to Coach Crispino when told Wagner was leaving: I am truly disappointed to hear this but, I totally understand where you are coming from. You have totally changed the Wagner program into a very reputable program. You are the team to beat and you are being given a raw deal by others, like the Super East. These teams have backed you into a corner and now you have to do what you have to do. Unfortunately, the MCHC has to suffer. I say that with sincerity, because losing a team of your caliber only makes the MCHC weaker.
You really should be commended for all of your hard work and for being able to persevere despite the unwillingness of others to give you a fair chance. I look forward to seeing you at the Spring Meeting and I do totally respect your decision.

Last updated Tuesday, 04-May-04 03:01:14 EDT
BIOGRAPHY
BORN: Windsor, Ontario, January 29, 1967.
HOME: Simsbury, Connecticut.
HEIGHT:
WEIGHT: 200-210 lbs.
UNIFORM #: New Jersey Hartford Carolina Phoenix Philadelphia Philadelphia 2/14/2004-present). Sean has worn #1 in every National Hockey League stop save for Philadelphia. He wore #33 in his first stint with the club (1998), and in his 2004 debut with the club. He switched to #41 in his second start, reportedly to get a "1" in his number.
CATCHES: Left
JUNIOR TEAM: Toronto (OHL)
SALARY (1996-97):
STYLE: Butterfly/stand-up hybrid. Doesn't so much play the puck as he does the percentages of positioning.
STRENGTHS: At 6'4", one of the largest in the league, Burke can be an imposing target for shooters. Good positioning skills; he often lets the "puck find the glove". Excellent attitude, highly coachable. At his best when he is aggressive and low in his crouch.
WEAKNESSES: Inconsistent. Gives up five-hole and low glove side goals. Needs to work on stickhandling, although - to his credit - he doesn't overdo his outlet attempts. Bad back gives him problems from time to time, and he doesn't recover following a scramble as well as smaller goaltenders.
Name pronounced BUHRK.
