Team owner, Abe Pollin has ended Jordan's three and a half year relationship with the Wizards, where he worked in the front office - and the last 2 years coming out of retirement as a player. Jordan could end up at the new Charlotte, NC franchise owned by BET's Bob Johnson. CHAMPS The San Antonio Spurs have won their second NBA Championship in 5 years - with an 88 to 77 win over the New Jersey Nets in game six of the series. Tim Duncan was named the series MVP - he had 21 points, 20 rebounds and 10 assists. He also blocked 8 shots and averaged 21 points and 17 rebounds for the series. This is Duncan's second MVP - he earned his first honors in 1999. The other half of the Spurs tall towers, Dave Robinson, is retiring. Robinson has been with the Spurs for 14 years. Call it a Career Rudy Tomjanovich has stepped down as the head coach of the Houston Rockets - but says he plans to stay with the organization in another role. Tomjanovich coached the Rockets for 12 seasons - and led them to their first 2 championships. He is also fighting treatable bladder cancer. Alonzo Mourning retired from the NBA because of recurring medical problems. The New Jersey Nets center suffers from kidney disease and needed a transplant. A nationwide search for a donor brought a new kidney from a relative. Mourning's retirement comes just a few months after he signed a 4-year contract with the Nets - believed to be worth $22 million dollars.
