ALL-STATE HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL FIRST TEAM OFFENSE
James Nadeau

Woodstock Center Sr., 6-3, 225
The player: Nadeau was one of the reasons the Wasps were undefeated this year as he led the offensive line in the trenches. The three-year starter is athletic and a student of the game with great technique. Nadeau was consistent on his snap exchanges with the quarterback all season and executed on his blocking. Nadeau called out the blocking assignments and made the angle blocks.

Queens, N.Y., native Jason Jimenez is starting his 3rd season as USM's strong tackle. But for a long time, football wasn't one of them. Born in Queens, N.Y., Jimenez played lacrosse and basketball after his family moved to Orlando, Fla., when he was in junior high school. "I thought, 'Football is crazy! Lacrosse is great!'" Jimenez said. "I had thought maybe about getting a scholarship with a school up north and playing lacrosse." Instead, come next Saturday, Jimenez will be on the football field at Roberts Stadium, anchoring one end of Southern Miss' offensive line, starting at strong tackle for a third consecutive season.

REGINA Jason Tucker caught two touchdown passes and the Edmonton Eskimos got even with the Montreal Alouettes with a 34-22 victory Sunday in a chilly Grey Cup game at Taylor Field. Tucker caught seven passes for 132 yards and was named the game's outstanding player. "We're champions for the rest of our lives,'' Tucker told CBC. Congratulations are in order, I'm certain. James Thomas, who became the Longhorns all-time leading rebounder early in the contest, pulled down 12 boards in the win. P.J. Tucker added 11 boards for Texas (19-4, 10-2 Big 12), which outrebounded the Sooners 46-30 in the contest. Drew Lavender led Oklahoma (16-7, 6-6) with 18 points. Jason Detrick added 14 points and De'Angelo Alexander contributed 12 for the Sooners, who lost for the second time this season to Texas and the fourth straight time overall.

Herald staff writer A defender by trade, Marshal Smith of Pasco had to dig deep into his bag of talents this season to play wide receiver and return punts and kicks for the Bulldogs, as well as play cornerback. Smith, a 6-foot, 180-pound senior, was rewarded for all of his hard work, being named to the 4A all-state first team at all four positions. The all-state teams are voted on by state sports editors and writers. "He did a tremendous job for us," Pasco coach Steve Graff said. "He did such a good job all year catching the football, and he led our team in interceptions (nine)." Carl Bonnell, a senior and three-year starter for Kentwood, led his team to Class 4A semifinal berths his sophomore and junior seasons before the Conquerors won the championship this year with a 38-24 win over Pasco. Smith, who shared Big Nine Conference MVP honors with Kamiakin's Scott Davis, caught a state record 13 passes in the title game against Kentwood. He finished with 58 receptions for 889 yards and 10 touchdowns. Davis was named a first-team linebacker, while Walla Walla's Caleb Miller and Moses Lake's Jordan Reffett, who shared the Big Nine defensive player of the year award with Wa-Hi's David Thompson, were honored as first-team defensive linemen.

It would be almost impossible for card companies to create a card for every player on every team, considering there are over 1600 current players in the NFL. So, only a few from each team make the cut each year. Below is a list of all the Cowboys who have had cards produced of them.

Cumulative season statistics
Late Golden Eagle rally comes up short in 24-20 loss to Southeast Missouri COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Two touchdowns late in the fourth quarter gave the Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles an opportunity to upset Ohio Valley Conference pre-season favorite Southeast Missouri State on Saturday afternoon. However, the Indian defense recovered a fumble in the final minute to stop Tech’s last-ditch drive and SEMO escaped town with a 24-20 victory. The loss extended Tech’s losing streak to six games, dropping the Golden Eagles record to 2-8 overall and 1-6 in the OVC. Southeast Missouri, meanwhile, put itself in position to capture the league title it was picked to win. The Indians host Jacksonville State next Saturday, with the with winner claiming the OVC crown and the automatic bid to the NCAA I-AA playoffs. After opening the year 0-5, SEMO improved to 5-6 overall and 5-2 in the league. Although the Golden Eagles suffered a school-record six interceptions in addition to the fumble, the Tech defense only allowed 10 points off the seven turnovers. Most of the turnovers occurred in SEMO territory, stopping Tech penetrations.

Analyse – Alouettes 22 – Eskimos 34
