Condoleeza Rice Warned
Willie Brown Not To Fly On 911

From Karolyn Martin
So, Condi-Condy-Candy was the mysterious caller who warned the top dogs not to fly or be in New York City on September 11th. We always wondered WHO called them and if it were true. This leads to only one question and surely President Bush or Condi-Condy-Candy Rice would find no precedence in the US Rule Book on Behavior to refuse this answer to the American people: (Are you ready?)
WHO WARNED YOU, Condy-Condi-Candy? ? ? ? ?
Who gave you this information you were so eager to tell all Bush special friends and associates about? What source of info did they have? Important enough for you to take the warning they gave you and call everyone PERSONALLY? Then there is the other side of this question, plain and simple: Who determined the names you should warn and those you would not call to warn them not to come to New York? Entire corporations who had offices in the WTC did not show up at work September 11th. But what about those who did report to the office as usual?
Like Schindler's List, what we want to see is Condi's List...

that's off! Average review score: Book of the Year Souls of My Brothers, Black Men Break Their Silence, Tell Their Truths, and Heal Our Spirits, edited by, Dawn Marie Daniels and Candace Sandy, is a collection of true short stories by African American men from all walks of life. They are movie stars, musicians, CEOs, single fathers, bus drivers and teachers. Each story covers subject matter such as: Growing up without a father in the home, mental illness, love, health, finances and sexual orientation (to name a few). Every now and then you read a book which blows your mind. Souls of My Brothers happened to be that book for me. From the foreword, by Isaac Hayes, to the last essay, I was captivated. At times I cried, I laughed, and by the end, I was empowered to become a better person. One of the most powerful sections in the book was the section which deals with being the keeper of one's brother. In this section, individuals shared stories on how they became successful when faced with insurmountable odds and how they reached back and developed programs, centers, jobs, etc. to assist their brothers.

KEYNOTE BREAKFAST Wednesday morning, April 14 Bhatia: Thank you Matt. He was born in 1934 on the wrong side of the tracks in Mineola. His mother was a maid to white families in Dallas. His father was a restaurant waiter and later a railroad porter. He was reared by his grandmother. The principal source of income for his family back in those days was bootlegging and gambling. He came to San Francisco in 1951 to follow a flamboyant uncle who purportedly ran an illicit casino in the Western Addition, which was then seen as being the Harlem of the West. He came from that difficult world, but through remarkable hard work escaped it. A farsighted professor at what was then called San Francisco State College spotted him and smoothed the way for Brown to enter college. Once he graduated, he went to the Hastings College of the Law here in the city and became a black lawyer in a city with a legal establishment that was just as segregated as the schools he had left behind in Texas. With term limits catching up to him in 1995, Brown left the assembly and was elected mayor of the City by the Bay. He certainly has not been a quiet mayor nor one who has avoided controversy. Indeed, his activist style has endured. He has attempted to forge political consensus around many of the vexing issues of San Francisco, ranging from building new football stadiums to developing Treasure Island in San Francisco Bay. He has taken on a decrepit city bus system, public employees, and San Francisco's never ending problem and dilemma with homelessness. And you probably saw in the paper this morning that he is now taking on bad drivers and bad pedestrians, as well. Through it all he has remained one of California's and the nation's most intriguing political figures, most charismatic and controversial leaders, and the best quote the California press has ever had. And he isn't even close to being done yet.

Many men have worn Eagles green throughout the years. One of the most beloved, by fans and teammates alike, was Jerome Brown. On Feburary 4, 1965, in Brooksville, Florida, Annie Bell and Willie Brown had a baby boy. They named him Willie Jerome Brown III. Jerome was a great athelete as early as Junior High School. He starred not only on the football team, but also in baseball and basketball at Parrott Middle School in Brooksville.Jerome was already six feet tall and over 230 pounds in Junior High School. He had to hold back in football practices so he wouldn't hurt his teammates. He later attended Hernando High School where he lettered in baseball, basketball and football. He earned a scholarship to attend the University of Miami. Jerome was a freshman on Miami's 1983 National Championship team. During the 1986 season, Jerome was a consensus All-American at Miami. The Hurricanes finished the regular season undefeated, ranked #1 in both polls, and were set to meet Penn State in the 1987 Fiesta Bowl. This would be the fourth year in a row that he would be starting in a bowl game. There was some controversy involved in this game. The Miami players, led by Brown, arrived at Tempe wearing military fatigues, they also walked out on a media event to honor both teams. The game itself had no controversy, but was a great game. Penn State won 14-10 when Pete Giftopoulus intercepted a Vinny Testeverde pass at the goal line with 18 seconds left in the game. Jerome finished his miami career with 21 sacks,19 tackles for loss, 5 fumbles forced and 4 fumble recoveries. He was also a finalist for the 1986 Outland Trophy and the Lombardi Award.

on DA MAYOR - The unOfficial Willie Brown Concerning Da Mayor''s absurd comments on the Sprewell assault of his coach: If Da Mayor and Mr. Sprewell had deigned to attend basic training at USMCRD, they''d really know what verbal harrassment and humiliation means. But Willie was apparently too busy avoiding the draft back in the Korean War or he couldn''t meet the height requirementsprobably the latter. I really think that Willie would have cut a dashing though small figure in "Marine greens." Contributed by Robert R Jordan ( RJUSMC51@aol.com ) on December 5, 1997. DA MAYORS ONLY CONCERN IS HIMSELF. I WOULD THINK HE DOES NOT GIVE A DAMM ABOUT SPREEWELL THIS IS JUST ANOTHER OPPORTUNITY FOR HIM TO GET HIS FACE IN THE PAPERS.THE MAN IS A POMPOUS ASS. Contributed by John P. ( DRHINO@webtv.net ) on December 5, 1997. While Sprewell''s behavior certainly did not work in his favor, I wonder why no one is asking questions about the coach''s behavior. An earlier post refers to basic training harrassment...I would like to refer that poster to the Supreme Court''s decades old finding that the user of "fighting words" is not protected by the shield of freedom of speech. It seems the user is not protected from getting his big mouth shut either. I think we all know that Sprewell could have done a great deal worse if he was truely out of control. But the coach must have really been off his rocker and oblivious to the damage he was doing. Is it possible that the coach WANTED to push this young man over the brink? What could have been his motive to be so verbally abusive to the degree that someone would want to hit him? And did he have absolutely no idea of Sprewell''s temperment (given his track record) or was he so arrogant and/or out of control that it did not matter at the time?

By Phil Harlow
Brown is looking forward to a highly-competitive play-off series When it comes to the Division One play-offs, Preston boss Craig Brown admits he would be reluctant to put much money on the outcome.
Brown believes there is a case for any one of Sunderland, Ipswich, West Ham or Crystal Palace to reach the Premiership. When pushed, Brown conceded he would put a small wager on Sunderland emerging victorious at the Millennium Stadium on 29 May. But he would prefer to risk somebody else's money on what he views as an impossibly tight contest. "If you gave me £10 I'd probably put it on Sunderland, but this is the most difficult of all the play-offs to predict - it's so tight," Brown told BBC Sport. "Mental strength's very important - it's a long, hard season and the need to peak again after 46 matches makes things difficult."

Pro Football Hall of Fame
Rather than naming its hall of fame the "NFL Hall of Fame" , the National Football League calls it the Pro Football Hall of Fame , even though its displays and inductees are dominated by NFL teams and players. The Hall is located in Canton, Ohio , the birthplace of the NFL in . The first Board of Selectors was comprised of sportswriters from the fourteen cities with NFL teams. Although there were eight American Football League teams in existence at the time, none of them were represented. Several of the first selectors had previously been on the NFL payroll as officials or executives. Dick McCann, long-time general manager of the Washington Redskins , was named the hall's first director on April 4, 1962, and Redskins owner George Preston Marshall was among the first inductees announced on January 29 . The building opened in Canton, Ohio on September 7 , 1963 with 17 charter inductees. Inductees into the hall of fame are listed below. Each entry includes the year of induction and the span of time spent with the team. When a person significantly contributed to more than one club, he is listed repeatedly (e.g., George Blanda is listed with the Chicago Bears Houston Oilers (now the Tennessee Titans) and Oakland Raiders ). This is somewhat ironic, since the Bears thought Blanda was

Interview with Mayor Willie L. Brown, Jr.
BJF: Mayor Brown, when you leave office in January, in what ways will San Francisco be better off than it was 8 years ago when you came to office? WB: The increased level of participation by people who have not been part of the delivery system; the exercise of power by people who have never been involved, people in (city) departments and on boards and commissions; the incredible, dramatic change in the skyline of San Francisco; the scope of things that have occurred and are occurring in the city, whether it's the Asian Art Museum, the Gay and Lesbian Center, the Women's Building, the Excelsior Youth Facility, Mission Bay, Hunter's Point Shipyard, Third Street Light Rail, improvements on Ocean Avenue, the Embarcadero and the dramatic change in that perspective of the city, the disappearance of the central freeway and the opening up of the corridors there, and the incredible number of new housing units that have been built. All of those things will reflect a dramatic difference from 1995 through the year 2003.
