    89. DarkSky In Europe: Member
as in Lombardy the amateur astronomers associations pushed to obtain the best law on the planet yet, so ALL THE EUROPEAN ASTRONOMICAL associations must join
    http://www.vialattea.net/cielobuio/europe/eumember.htm
    "DarkSky in Europe" Member
    Dear European amateur astronomers,
    CieloBuio
Since then some things changed. These are the main points:
    • CieloBuio now counts more than 120 members among amateur astronomer groups including UAI (the national association of amateur astronomers), astronomical observatory, IDA-Italian section with its president Mario Di Sora and its scientific director Pierantonio Cinzano, light pollution experts (scientists, light designers, astronomer, lawyers) nation-wide. Lombardy bill has passed in January 2000. Now it is the law number 17 of March 27, 2000. We believe it to be the most effective anti light pollution law, surely in Italy, and perhaps of the World. In Italy we already have six regional laws out of twenty regions, but of these, three were spoiled by the intervention of light designers and producers.
    So I ask to you:
    • to give your helpfulness such as representative of your association and of the other associations you can contact in order to start with a unitary European initiative. You should transmit directly to Falchi Fabio (CieloBuio - Scientific Commission): the representative (e-mail), the association, the nation, address and telephone number (eventually web site and e-mail).

    CUYAHOGA ASTRONOMICAL ASSOCIATION
The Cuyahoga Astronomical Association is an amateur astronomy club, established in 1957. Our club is open to the public to people with an interest and desire to learn more about astronomy. Our membership ranges from junior high school students to senior citizens. We hold a general meeting on the Second Monday of each Month at 8 PM in the Cleveland Metroparks' Rocky River Nature Center, located 1/4-mile north of Cedar Point Road on the Valley Parkway in North Olmsted, Ohio. Information on monthly meetings, scheduled talks and current events can be found in the CAA newsletter, The Observer Public Programs and Star Parties are open to the general public and are usually held at at one of three sites in the Cleveland Metroparks, Brecksville Road, Bradley Woods or Lewis Road. Programs in Medina County are usually held at Letha House Park. Private Star Parties are open to CAA members and their guests. These observing sessions are usually held at Medina County's Letha House Park. We are in the process of building our observatory at the Letha House site in Spencer, Ohio. The observatory was dedicated in the Summer 2001.

    92. The Astronomical Society Of Southern Africa
Following an invitation from the Cape Association it was decided in 1922 to merge the two associations to form the “Astronomical Society of South Africa”.
    http://www.saao.ac.za/assa/html/2_the_society.html
news sections centres publications ... symposia The Society is a body consisting of both amateur and professional astronomers. Membership is open to all interested persons, regardless of knowledge or experience.
    Brief history
Shortly after the 1910 apparition of Halley’s Comet, the Cape Astronomical Association was established (1912), with SS Hough, HM Astronomer at the Cape, as President. In 1918, the Johannesburg Astronomical Association was created, with RTA Innes, Union Astronomer, as President. Following an invitation from the Cape Association it was decided in 1922 to merge the two Associations to form the “Astronomical Society of South Africa”. From the Cape Astronomical Association Annual Report 1921-1922 "In accordance with the resolution adopted at the Special General Meeting of June 7th, 1921, instructing your Council to open negotiations with the Johannesburg Astronomical Association with a view to union and the formation of an Astronomical Society for South Africa, your Council have been in communication with the Johannesburg Association and have submitted a draft constitution. This has now been adopted at Johannesburg and will shortly be submitted to you for your acceptance at a special general meeting to be called for that purpose." (anon 1923) The Society changed its name to the Astronomical Society of Southern Africa in 1956.

    Astronomy as hobby
I have been interested in astronomy since I was about 10. This hobby have been especially watching and observing sky. The theoretical interest have been more or less just getting basic knowledge. Nowardays I have been interested more and more about electronical communication as help of amateur astronomy. I have participate also lots to club and association activities. During 20-years "career" in amateur astronomy the hobby is turned almost like a lifestyle. I have studied amateur astronomy with very wide view. The only bigger area I haven't done is optics and telescope making. I leave them for those who knows that better.
Some special things in my hobby:
