NIST Scientific And Technical Databases - Analytical Chemistry Including the Chemistry WebBook, databases of mass spectra UV/VIS, infrared, diffraction and surface properties, avoiding the need to recharacterize substances, from NIST at Gaithersburg, MD. http://www.nist.gov/srd/analy.htm
Extractions: Data Home Analytical Chemistry Atomic and Molecular Physics Biometrics ... Thermophysical and Thermochemical Analytical Chemistry NIST provides a comprehensive set of easy-to-use databases and online systems that help the analytical chemist identify unknown materials and obtain physical, chemical, and spectroscopic data about known substances. The databases marked with an * have been fully evaluated using a variety of techniques. When appropriate, duplicate measurements have been included for completeness. The databases and online systems are updated and expanded on a regular basis. The PC databases have sophisticated software that enables searching which takes only seconds. Highlights The NIST/EPA/NIH Mass Spectral Library is the product of a multiyear, comprehensive evaluation and expansion of the world's more widely used mass spectral reference library. The database now includes 147,198 compounds with spectra. Click here for a list of our distributors of this high-quality, evaluated product.

Interactive Models For Analytical Chemistry Instruction A collection of interactive computer simulations for use in Instrumental Analysis and Spectrochemical Methods courses. http://www.inform.umd.edu/EdRes/Topic/Chemistry/ChemConference/Software/Spreadsh
Extractions: Last updated: March, 2003 This is a collection of interactive computer models and simulations of common analytical instruments and techniques. Most have a point-and-click interface; you click buttons and drag sliders to control variables and the model responds dynamically, usually faster than real time. I originally designed these models for students in my courses in Instrumental Analysis (an undergraduate laboratory course) and Spectrochemical Methods (a graduate lecture-based course). They were designed to be used by individual students either as homework assignments, for in-class use in a computer lab environment, or in the laboratory for the analysis of student-generated data. Some can be used by the instructor in lecture-demonstration environments. Student assignment handouts are attached to most of them. The mathematical basis for each model is described, including all cell definitions and equations. PC users: Shift-click to download complete set of models as a ZIP file (700 Kbytes) Mac users: Shift-click to download complete set of models as a SIT file (500 Kbtes) These model collections include a "player" application that will allow you to run the models and make changes to the parameters.
