Rather than with books, his enormous reputation rested upon is various lecturs; as a result, much of his work was published posthumously from reconstructions of his various talks. Austin is perhaps best known for his belief that much of philosophy is performed with excessive haste and carelessness - in particular when it comes to the language people use. Because of this, he felt that greater precision with language would entail fewer unnecessary disagreements and greater progress in philosophy. This perspective of his was explored in great detail in a series of lectures later published under the title Sense and Senibilia. In it Austin examined one of A.J. Ayer's works and argued that the entire project was undermined by the lack of any clear understanding of the centeral concepts used.

Extractions: First of all, a lot of you may not know where Newfoundland is. This is a map of Newfoundland and Labrador on the east coast of Canada. You can see Quebec to the left of Labrador as well as a part of the US below. Newfoundland will always be home to me. I lived there for 30 years before moving to the US to marry the man of my dreams, S. John Ross . I grew up as a Townie! In other words, I am from the capital city of St. John's . (For those of you outside our province, people outside the city of St. John's are affectionately called Baymen and there is a rivalry of sorts between Baymen and Townies)! Newfoundland is a very beautiful province. There are many scenic and historic sites to be seen. Evergreen forests cover much of the island. There are mountain ranges along the Great Northern Peninsula and in Labrador. In the spring, it is not unusual to see an Ice Berg if you are near the ocean. The ocean itself is beautiful, so dark and angry much of the time. In addition to Newfoundland being a beautiful place to live or visit, it is home to the friendliest people on Earth. Many people who have visted our province are amazed and impressed at just how friendly Newfies can be. There are Newfie Jokes out there, to try to make Newfies look stupid. In fact, because of the jokes, some Newfoundlanders don't like being called a Newfie. But I am proud to be a Newfie. We are a rare breed. Newfoundlanders have their own way of speaking, as do many cultures. In fact, some Newfies cannot understand other Newfies. It depends on where you are from in the province. I want to share some

Welcome To Club Austin Nationallevel development club for track and field and distance running for post-collegiate runners. Includes photos, results of races, and a list of athletes in the club. http://www.che.utexas.edu/~john/club_austin/
Extractions: Club Austin is a national level development club for track and field and distance running. We are dedicated to the promotion of track and field for distance runners through a team training environment. Our goal is to lengthen the careers of runners once they leave school and improve distance running in the Central Texas area. It only makes sense that for runners to reach their potential they must continue running after college. As any distance runner knows long periods of high quality training are the key to continued improvement and success and we at Club Austin would like to be the start of a support system that would allow this kind of training to take place after the collegiate years. We plan on doing this by:

Quarterly Review Abstract Established in 1809 as a Tory rival to the Whig supporting Edinburgh Review, the idea for the journal came from Sir Walter Scott. The Quarterly Review stood politically for preserving the status quo. The journal was very hostile to the work of writers in favour of political reform. Writers such as Percy Bysshe Shelley, Leigh Hunt, William Hazlitt, Thomas Babington Macaulay and Charles Dickens all received hostile reviews in the journal, whereas the work of Jane austin and Sir Walter Scott was warmly praised. It was alleged that john Wilson Croker's savage review of john Keat's Endymion contributed to the poet's early death.
