Extractions: 21st July 2001 (Saturday) Time: Venue: Arena of Stars LEON LAI AND FRIENDS CONCERT REVIEW 21st July, 2001 - As Leon's fans pour into the Arena of Stars on Saturday, their anticipation for Leon's concert indefinitely paid off. Looking tall, attractive and handsome, Leon blasted off his concert with a fast numbered song. With Leon's live band and the dynamic as well as the energetic dancers behind him , the atmosphere of the concert was truly invigorating and "Hot!". Leon sang many of his latest songs such as; "Nei Hai Ngo Gie", "Kan Shang Ta", "Chong Gum Hoi Chi", "Gan Ngoi", "Chun Yat Ngoi" and many other hits. After Nicola stepped down from the stage, Leon was back up again. Throwing off another of his best hit songs, Leon mesmerized and captivated the crowd with his good looks and soulful melodies. After two songs, Leon then introduced his next friend, the gorgeous Cass Phang. With her powerful vocals, Cass Phang sang some of her old hits such as; "Mei Yan Ga Dou", "Xiu Wun Yi", "Yat Zhi Fa", "Gei Lisa" (from her new album), and "Yong Ngo Gan Nei Zhau". Cass also sang a dedication song to her grandmother who was present at the concert to watch her sing. Cass's grandmother is a Malaysian from Ipoh and she had traveled all the way to Genting Highlands just to see her beloved granddaughter sing. Therefore, to honour her grandmother, Cass sang "Yun Chun Yan Nei".
