Soccer365 Revs notch First Win Of 2004, 02/05/04. Los Angeles Galaxy Kevin Hartman, PaulBroome, Tyrone Marshall, ryan Suarez, Chris Albright, Andreas Herzog, Joseph http://www.soccer365.com/US_NEWS/MLS/page_95_71768.shtml
Extractions: The Galaxy dominated possession in the first half, but went into the locker room down a goal due in part to an early missed chance and a defensive lapse. The Los Angeles attack broke out of the gate quickly, and the Galaxy had their first chance three minutes in. Forward Jovan Kirovski burst through the Revolution defense to the left of the goal and played a ball across the box for strike partner Carlos Ruiz. The leading goal-scorer in MLS had an open net to shoot at, but was unable to get a shot off thanks to a backtracking New England defender. After the goal, the Galaxy developed a more organized attack, but had few efforts on goal, as New England crowded their own penalty area and blanketed both Ruiz and Kirovski. Five minutes later, Hartman prevented the Revolution from extending their lead. New England midfielder Steve Ralston played a give-and-go with Noonan to get in free on goal, but Hartman denied his shot from point-blank range.

Extractions: segan@sickkids.on.ca Studies on Endocytosis of cell surface receptors, Notch activation and Mouse Mammary Gland Development The strength, duration and mechanism of signaling from growth factor receptors are controlled through regulation of endocytosis and recycling. We have recently identified a novel and complex family of endocytic proteins. The Ese proteins posses up to 11 protein-protein interaction domains including 2 EH domains, a coiled-coil domain, up to 5 SH3 domains, a DBL domain, a PH domain and a C2 domain. We have also found that Ese proteins can bind to Eps15(R), Dynamin, and Epsin to regulate endocytosis through clathrin coated pits. We are currently investigating the role of Ese proteins in endocytosis of several growth regulatory receptors. The Notch family receptors have been implicated in development of most tissues in complex animals. We are interested in how the Notch receptors are activated. To this end we have recently identified mammalian Fringe proteins (Lunatic, Manic and Radical Fringe) which control Notch activation in response to Delta and Serrate family ligands. The biochemical mechanism by which Fringes regulate Notch activation is under investigation. Finally, we are studying how the Notch system is activated during mouse mammary gland development, and what role the Notch receptor system plays in regulation of growth and differentiation of mammary epithelial cells in vivo.

Extractions: Main Today I saw a news clip of an amazing 20-year-old Colorado college student Ryan Patterson , who invented a glove that translates sign language (letters) into text on a computer. Patterson came up with the idea while in high school eating at a fast food joint. Pretty remarkable. But what is most impressive about this young man is that he wants to develop technology in order to help people. Although there's a patent pending on his device, he says he could really care less about making a fortune on his invention. His next project is to develop technology to assist people who have suffered brain damage. We need more inventors of this ilk. Extractions: This authors most distant identified Ryan ancestor was one William Ryan, Sr. With the source description above providing a basis, this familys history can be related. The birthplace of William Ryan, Sr., of Buckingham Co. is shrouded in some mystery. William, Sr., is alleged to have come from England "before the Revolution" to Buckingham Co., VA, according to the account by W. E. Ryan. Although W. E. Ryans account probably related his grandfathers tale accurately, it is not clear to me whether W. W. Ryan actually knew his grandfather, William, Sr. The reason for my skepticism is the War of 1812 pension filing by W.W.s father, William Ryan. Jr. The pension filing by William, Jr., in 1855 states that his real name is William Ryan, but that he was known during his military service as William R. Damron

Simley, ranked No. 2 in the Class AAA state team ratings compiled by The Guillotine magazine and No. 8 in the national high school team poll, trimmed New Prague 49-16 in the championship match. DVD Bulletin - Saving Private Ryan DVD Review the film lasts almost three hours, the film holds your interest as the soldiersdraw ever closer to Private ryan. All of the acting is topnotch, with Tom http://www.dvdbulletin.co.uk/reviews/37/
Extractions: Seen through the eyes of a squad of American soldiers, the story begins with World War II's historic D-Day invasion, then moves beyond the beach as the men embark on a dangerous special mission. Captain John Miller must take his men behind enemy lines to find Private James Ryan, whose three brothers have been killed in combat. Faced with impossible odds, the men question their orders. Why are eight men risking their lives to save just one? Surrounded by the brutal realities of war, each man searches for his own answer - and the strength to triumph over an uncertain future with honor, decency and courage. Highly emotional and dramatic, Saving Private Ryan delivers a truly epic experience with immense ultra-realistic war sequences and excellent character studies. The first beach scene runs for a chaotic 20 minutes and was highly praised by veterans for its likeness to the actual experience and although the film lasts almost three hours, the film holds your interest as the soldiers draw ever closer to Private Ryan. All of the acting is top-notch, with Tom Hanks delivering yet another exemplary performance. His character is, expectedly, the most complex of the pack, and a few people criticised the other roles as being a bit too simplistic. While this may hold true to varying degrees for some, the characterisation is still more than good enough to hold viewers' interest for the film's duration.

Emerson works with autistic children in a kindergarten class in Santa Monica, Calif. Notch's 13-episode documentary, "USC Medical," follows the trials of patients going through L.A. County Hospital. Ryan's Lair: Missing The Point Doing interesting things, building topnotch facilities, and having the best librariesrequires a lot of Posted by ryan Overbey at November 11, 2003 1258 PM. http://www.sanskritboy.net/archives/2003/11/08/missing_the_point.html
Extractions: Main There's a wildly misleading article in the New York Times , entitled Rich Colleges Receiving Richest Share of U.S. Aid . It opens with an administrator from California State University at Fresno complaining that Stanford gets more federal aid than Fresno. Then it goes on to lament the fact that Ivies and other elite private institutions receive so much in work-study and loan assistance. This kind of bullshit makes me angry . If I had it my way, I'd want elite universities to receive even more aid. Could you imagine if every great university had the resources of, say, Princeton, to offer need-blind admissions and sweet, loan-free packages to every poor incoming student? Wouldn't that be great? But no, this journalist characterizes entire universities as rich, which implies that they could simply shift their resources to financial aid if they really wanted to. Sure, they could, and they would quickly become low-quality institutions. The author misses the point entirely. This was a big issue at Brown a few years back. We didn't have need-blind admissions at Brown. Students were demanding it. But moving to need-blind admissions with an endowment of only one billion dollars, and maintaining Brown's status as a first-class university, being able to hire top-notch faculty, improving the graduate school, improving the library this stuff isn't cheap. Now imagine if Brown received no federal aid for its students, because it is a technically rich university. Unbelievable.
