The twentysomething, former corporate computing drone has agreed to stay in a house until 2001, foraging out into the world only via the Internet, which he asserts will supply all his needs. DotComGuy, his recently assumed legal name, has so far put on a happy face in front of the dozen or so Web cameras in his house, calling most domestic activities "fun," most interview questions "excellent" and ending most daily journal entrees with the mantra, "I love the Internet." With sponsors including United Parcel Service, 3Com, Network Solutions, Piper Jaffray and Travelocity, he spent the entire year of 2000 in his home in Dallas Texas, living off the internet. All food and other necessities were ordered off the internet and delivered to the home he never left.
