Last update: October 2, 2003 at 11:27 AM Michael Anthony, Star Tribune October 3, 2003 Career path decided early He started as a volunteer with the orchestra in Elmira, N.Y., then got a Rockefeller Foundation grant, which landed him at the then-Minneapolis Symphony Orchestra for a year, working as an intern under Richard Cisek, then managing director. When the year was up, he thought of taking a job with a small orchestra in Indiana. Hyslop stayed until 1972, then took the top post at the Oregon Symphony. In 1978, he moved several notches up to the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra, where he enjoyed 13 spectacular years with Leonard Slatkin as music director. Time magazine named St. Louis the second best orchestra in the country, after the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, during that time. Nonetheless, when Hyslop was offered the job in Minnesota, which might have been seen as a sideways move, he took it largely for financial reasons, he said. The Minnesota Orchestra had a larger endowment and a deeper commitment from its donors than had ever been the case in St. Louis, where the orchestra nearly went bankrupt two years ago. "That was real hard. I care about Leonard greatly," he said, as if reliving the memory.

Her mother, Rose, was imprisoned when Nell was young, and she was frequently visited by theatre owner Thomas Killegrew. Exactly how Nell came to work as an orange-seller at the Theatre Royal in Drury Lane is not known. Some say that she was employed at a young-age as a barmaid in a local tavern and moved up to the theatre through connections from the tavern, and other's write that her job as an orange seller was her first job and that Killegrew hired her a favor to her mother. Either way, the end result is the same. Through her job as an orange seller, Nell gained exposure to theatre life. Orange sellers were usually pretty girls who could flirt (and sometimes do more) with the audience, and Nell's quick wit made her a favorite with the men in the audience. After becoming the mistress of Charles Hart, an actor, she made her first stage around 1664 in Dryden's play The Indian Emperor In 1667, Nell performed the part of Florimel in

In this day and age, no web site with customer data to protect should go live with out and complete review of existing security alerts from sites like CERT. In addition, when running a site, if the site operator receives specific information on security holes, they should act immediately to protect the problem. Many sites have failed to do this. Many crackers know this and will use these holes if they are not fixed. A few of these holes in Hotmail have been publicized, but other then that, many site's holes have gone unfixed.
