I read it in one laugh-out loud sitting, and will recommend it to all of my friends. I can't wait for a sequel! Book: Marilyn - When I opened this box on Christmas morning, I felt like the luckiest girl in the world. A recent convert to Marilyn-ism, this was one of the first books about her I owned, and I'm so glad, because I think it's important to know Norma Jeane before you know Marilyn. These huge, glorious photographs taken by Andre de Dienes capture her innocence and natural beauty at a time when she was an unknown model. De Dienes' memoirs are touching and reveal Norma Jeane as she was to him, a man who fell in love with her, as so many would in the future. After paging through these books, you are left to feel as though Norma Jeane Dougherty would never look quite as beautiful again (and of course she would, but not in the same way). Revealing Marilyn Monroe at her earliest beginnings, this limited edition package is definitely worth the money.

Extractions: Squash NWT Home March 1999 April 1999 SquashTalk Home Media Page News Power vs Crombie Jonathon Power and Jamie Crombie in Yellowknife (or Jamie Crombie's Excellent Adventure) by Kevin Campbell On January 24 and 25, 1997, the NWT Squash Racquets Association hosted an exhibition match between Jonathon Power, Canada's number 1 squash player and number 6 in the World and Jamie Crombie, the number 4 ranked squash player in Canada at the Yellowknife Racquet Club. In addition, 4 squash clinics were held during this time period. As with many events, some things didn't exactly go as originally planned. I received a message on my answering machine around noon on Friday from Jamie Crombie informing me that his flight from Calgary to Edmonton had been cancelled so he had been transferred to another airline and he arrived late in Edmonton and therefore, he missed his connection to Yellowknife. Crombie ended his message on my answering machine by stating, "The nightmare has started!" In his own words, Jamie Crombie spent the next 8 hours waiting for his 8:30 p.m. flight at the Edmonton airport, "hanging out, eating, sleeping, watching television, reading - all the things you do at the airport when you are as bored as hell." Meanwhile, along with Jimmy Stewart and Lauchie MacDonald, I met Jonathan and John Power at the Yellowknife airport at 1:30 p.m. Of course their first remark was, "What are you going to do, Jamie wasn't on the plane!

Crombie was a lecturer in politics and urban affairs at Ryerson in the 1960s when he became involved in Toronto 's urban reform movement. At the time the city had a very pro-development city council which approved projects that levelled neighbourhoods to make way for the construction of huge apartment blocks and office towers.
