Country music's most revered couple played to a full house of fans, family and friends that included Ricky Skaggs, The Whites, Marty Stuart, Connie Smith, Leona Williams, Larry Stephenson, Tommy Cash, Jack Greene, Jean Shepard and comedian/impressionist Johnny Counterfit.
Extractions: Johnny discovered his God-given talent for voice impressions at the early age of five in his hometown of Portland, Oregon. He realized he could recreate the same voices heard on television while watching cartoons. Throughout elementary and high school, the young entertainer would perform voice impressions of singers, actors, and politicians for family members, teachers, and fellow students. At seventeen years of age, Counterfit began to perform professionally with a band at a local night spot called, "The Nashville West", on "open-mic" Sunday. Over the years, Johnny developed a following of fans, and decided to utilize his talents toward a full-time career in "showbiz". The first of many big breaks occurred for Johnny after he performed for several years in clubs, at fairs, and for corporate events. ABC TELEVISION NETWORK asked Johnny to appear on it's new show called, "AMERICA'S FUNNIEST PEOPLE", which continues to be aired on the FOX FAMILY CHANNEL. Counterfit also was asked to use his talents to create the star voice of the lead character, Rex, in a "CLAYMATION CHRISTMAS CELEBRATION", an annual television special that airs on the DISNEY CHANNEL each holiday season. Johnny continues to be featured in numerous other appearances that include film, video, and radio stations throughout the country.

I'm not talking about some of the garbage labeled as Country; it's a shame "false advertising" laws don't apply. I'm talking about what most honest and intelligent Country Music lovers know is Country Music. I believe Country Music is about life, and our lives do change; it's only logical that our music changes as well. How did you get your start in country music and at what age? Since I have been blessed with a God-given talent of voice impressions, I have used my abilities since about the age of five. Watching television musical and comedy programs cultivated my immersion into the art of show business. If you weren't doing what you are now, what do you think you would be doing instead? If I were not in show business, I would own some sort of business elsewhere.

Extractions: I am a native of NC, born and raised in the Yadkin County area located very close to Winston-Salem. My family is very musical. My father continues to play fiddle at various events and festivals and my mother plays piano and sings. My parents were very influential in the early development of my musical career. While still in High School, I was a member of one of the first all female Bluegrass Bands and performed in a variety of Bluegrass competitions and festivals throughout the Carolinas and Virginia. Meanwhile, I played flute in my High School Band and studied classical Violin through private lessons at the School of Arts in Winston-Salem. HeartStrings being interviewed on the Fox Morning show with Charlie Chase Mindy McCready with band Thus, my career in Country Music began at this theater in Hickory, NC called "Country Adventures" where I performed for eight years as a featured vocalist and instrumentalist.. In addition to my performances at Country Adventures, I was an opening act for Reba McEntire, Tanya Tucker, Lori Morgan, Emmylou Harris, Steve Wariner, Ronnie Milsap, Gene Watson, Sawyer Brown, Bellamy Brothers, Marie Osmond, Billy Joe Royal, Carlene Carter, Tom T. Hall, Connie Smith, Ronnie McDowell, Mel Tillis and Sweethearts of the Rodeo to name a few. In 1991, I moved to Nashville, taking the big step of faith and determination. Since moving to Nashville, I have been fortunate to have performed in many different venues and have made many talented and famous musical friends. I toured throughout the U.S. with a Nashville based group called "The Nashville Country Music Revue" for a couple of years. I have also been a performer at the Opryland Theme Park for two seasons. I was a featured vocalist and fiddle player with the Bluegrass group "White Water" in the Martin Guitar Theater and appeared with this group on a televised portion of the Bill Monroe segment of the Grand Ole Opry. I also performed in the Durango Theater with the singing impressionist "Johnny Counterfit".
