Extractions: the township, started in 1834 when Samuel L. Rathbun sold 1/2 acre to the trustees for $5.25. In 1859 Manning and Mary Ware sold them an additional parcel adjacent to the northwest corner. In 1877 still another addition was made at the northwest corner, purchased from Bradford and Sarah Blackmer. Many early settlers are buried in this cemetery.
