Extractions: Old Fairview Cemetery, Memphis, Hall County, TX Photos by Anne Chappell This cemetery is the oldest cemetery in Memphis and is located on the South side of FM 1547 on the East side of Memphis, Texas. The new Fairview Cemetery is located on the North side of the road. If there are any questions or if you think there is an error please e-mail Anne Chappell . She provides the cemetery inscriptions below. She will do lookups for this cemetery and several others in Hall County. Thank you Anne for your gracious contribution to this site! Much of the credit for the cemetery lists in Hall county should be given to Mike Hughes who walked each cemetery, recorded, alphabetized and transcribed them with a manual typewriter, starting back in the 1970's. The Aspen and Cedar sections were strictly Mike's work. Other lists were used along with Mike's for the other two sections of Birch and Dogwood. All of them have been updated through 1990 by Anne.
