A Century Of Collies This was the decade in which Albert Payson Terhune (18721942) picked up his prolific pen and wrote his first story involving a Collie. http://www.chelsea-collies.com/century3.html
Extractions: 1) Kennelmen Mike Kennedy of Bellhaven 2) Florence Cummings of Arrowhill 3) Edwin Pickhardt of Sterling Collies 4) Knocklayde Collies Unfortunately, just when Hunter began to realize his dream, tragedy struck in 1915, when he suffered a fatal heart attack. His meteoric rise in Collies was among the most brief ever witnessed. Since his wife did not share the same enthusiasm for the hobby, the entire kennel was sold at the "Knocklayde Dispersal" sale. Breeders came from all over. Mrs. Lunt purchased Ch. Seedley Sylvia and Knocklayde Queen Bud, one of her foundation bitches. Ch. Seedley Stirling went to the Pinewood Kennels. Other purchases went to Tazewell and Imna. The entire collection of dogs was dispersed throughout the country and many went onto great accomplishments for other breeders. Queen Bud, Queen Mary, King Hector & Seedley Stirling all played important roles in the formation of early American pedigrees. 5) Albert Payson Terhune 6) Ch. Seedley Stirling
