David's In-Progress List. Created: 25 May 2004 The following is my current in progress list for Project Gutenberg. David PriceUK Project Gutenberg Coordinator Email ccx074@coventry.ac.uk England. http://www.dprice48.freeserve.co.uk/GutIP.html
Extractions: This list was created 25 May 2004 The following is my current in progress list for Project Gutenberg. The list is intended to help those checking which works are being or have been done. No doubt there will be omissions and errors - if you see an error (for example a book you're working on which isn't listed) please email me and let me know so that I can correct the list. I'll do my best to upload a new copy of the list each week. The list is alphabetic by author and then within author by title of work. Works with unknown/inapplicable authors appear at the end. For each work the status of the work is given. For those works that are not yet released there is also the date when I last updated the record. So, if a work was last updated in 1995 not a lot seems to be happening with it! You may see an * after a release number. This means that as well as the release number shown other release numbers are also involved. The main Gutenberg site will give more details. This is to keep the size of this page down somewhat. General tip: the list is long so I suggest you save a copy on your computer - it will make it easier to search/browse.

The slogan of the project is "break down the bars of ignorance and illiteracy", chosen because the project hopes to continue the work of spreading public literacy and appreciation for our literary heritage that public libraries began in the early 20th century . All Gutenberg releases are available in plain ASCII text, and occasionally in other file formats as well. Because maximum availability is a goal, the project eschews prettier but bulkier and not-universally-compatible data formats such as
