Su música tiene un carácter místico, comprende el oratorio "El libro de la vida", los Poemas litúrgicos y música para teatro. Escribió el tratado de armonía tonal, atonal y total. Escritor estadounidense, nacido en Irlanda. Autor de cuentos que, como "The diamond lens" y "Whats was it" alcanzó gran popularidad entre el público interesado en temas extravagantes. Es considerado como uno de los precursores de la literatura de ciencia ficción.
