Subsequent gatherings occurred in 1992, 1995, 1996, 1998 and 2000. Each was organized within the framework of the College's annual springtime Alumni Reunion Weekend. Most of the participants in the first three reunions were members of the Men's Glee Club at Dickinson between 1952 and 1970. However, a few were graduates representing classes from the 1920s, 1930s and 1940s who sang with all male vocal groups that functioned on the campus during those decades. In 1996 a male vocal ensemble called the Octals was organized at Dickinson. Some of its members began to participate in the reunions beginning in June of that year. More recently, Men's Glee Club/Octals Reunion participants have included some tenors and basses who sang with other campus groups while they were undergraduates at Dickinson. Reunion participants since 1989 and where they are currently located: * Conductor as well as singer.

Distinguished Alumni Award The Distinguished Alumni Award is the highest honor that can be granted to an alumnus or alumna of Emporia State University by the ESU Alumni Association. Awarded each fall during Homecoming, it recognizes the outstanding professional accomplishments of ESU's finest graduates. Since the inception of the award program in 1960, 177 alumni have received the award. Candidates are nominated for the Distinguished Alumni Award by alumni and current and retired ESU faculty. As much information as possible is gathered on each candidate. The information is evaluated and an initial selection is made by a committee representing alumni and faculty. The Alumni Association Board of Directors approves or makes final selection of those who will receive the award. A maximum of five alumni can receive the award in a given year. Past Distinguished Alumni have included teachers, research scholars, humanitarians, administrators, public servants, doctors, lawyers, and leaders in business, industry, and the military. All are respected in their professions and community. Most important, they are Emporia State University graduates who have given ESU a rich heritage.

He married Mary Ann O'Regan 1880, daughter of Timothy O'Regan and Hannah. She was born April 27, 1857 in Burnsville, MN, and died April 26, 1916. And notes: James died in 1892 and his body was brought back to Credit River for burial in the family plot. His wife remained in Birch Cooley and was married to John Golden in 1900. The 1900 census continued to list the children under the Faricy name but there is no trace of them after this time. It is possible that they ended up taking the name of their new step-father. No information is available regarding Mary after 1900.

Nyd speaks most strongly of pause, the hallmark of the both the timid and the patient, and is often interpreted as foretelling a delay in the effect of other runes that it accompanies. Fortunately, even where there is misery and danger there are valuable lessons to be learned - the trick is to learn them before you are overtaken by despair. Birth Mates

Wunjo is also seen as a rune of the gods and a rune of perfection, carrying with it the elation that blazes from the creation of a perfect work - perhaps this is the true joy of the gods, that they can create perfection. That aside, this rune does not focus on the struggle for perfection or on our inevitable imperfections, but rather on a job well done and the satisfaction that comes from it. Birth Mates
