It intends to put as many books on-line as possible and to gather these on line works into one central location. It is a terrific service of the University of Illinois. Project Gutenberg is the brainchild of Michael Hart, who in 1971 decided that it would be a really good idea if lots of famous and important texts were freely available to everyone in the world. Since then, he has been joined by hundreds of volunteers who share his vision. Now, more than thirty years later, Project Gutenberg has the following figures (as of November 8th 2002): 203 New eBooks released during October 2002, 1975 New eBooks produced in 2002 (they were 1240 in 2001) for a total of 6267 Total Project Gutenberg eBooks. 119 eBooks have been posted so far by Project Gutenberg of Australia

Extractions: PhD project: Investigating Ultra-Fine Grained Materials Supervisor Dr Phil Prangnell Email: m.berta@postgrad.umist.ac.uk I landed in sunny Manchester 1 year ago, and came with the aim of investigating the recovery and recrystallization of ultrafine grained aluminium alloys. Coming from another country and from working in another field (polymer-clay nanocomposites) I decided: Why not cutting-edge research on aluminium? Some topics and questions Im trying to answer with my work on UFG materials: Is recovery time affected by the strain used to obtain the ultrafine grained structure? By which mechanism is recovery controlled for the above mentioned alloys? How do second-phase particles affect recovery rate? I s an ultrafine structure stable to recovery after annealing (175 C)? The project involves lots of processing by ECAE (equal channel angular extrusion), SEM to see recristallization and grain growth, TEM to see dislocations rearranging and point defects disappearing... much good quality research thanks to the very high standard of

Extractions: Q: Mr. Tadin, you say this took place in 1964? A: Yes, sir, about that time. Q: Could you tell us what month that was in '64? A: It was in the later summer months, in the later part of the summer. I couldn't tell you exactly what month, but it was in the later part of the summer. Q: Now, what are you referring to as the "summer months"? A: Could have been around July. Q: Well, now, you say it could have been around July or it was during July? A: It could have been around July. Q: Could it have been around June? A: Could have. Q: Could it have been around May? A: I couldn't answer that far. Q: Could it have been around A: It could have been between June and August, I will put it that way. Q: Between June and August? A: Right. Q: Now, what building is that that you say Mr. Shaw came out of at that time? A: At the big hangar on the right-hand side as you come from Dymond Road and make a turn, and there is an incline, and the building on the right, which was a large building, not the large door but that small door, he and Dave came out of there. Q: Now, how big is that hangar?
