V prispevku bo opisan razvoj bibliofilstva v svetu in pri nas, orisane bodo njegove znaèilnosti v zgodovini in danes. Predstavljeni bodo nekateri veliki svetovni bibliofili, npr. Richard de Bury (1287 - 1345), pa tudi nai, kot iga Zois, Rudolf Maister in Janez Milèinski. Ljubezen do zbiranja knjig je danes sicer v svetu bolj razvita kot pri nas, vendar tudi Slovenci premoremo nekaj resnih zbiralcev, ki se z veliko ljubeznijo in zagnanostjo pa tudi s finanènimi rtvami, ukvarjajo s svojimi plemenitimi konjièki.
