Extractions: by Gregory Mattingly John, a senior technical instructor for six years, was also laid off late in 2001. John also spent many months sending out resumes without reward. John forged ahead obtaining MCSE certification and sought work as a system administrator. When that effort yielded no results, he found part-time employment as a telephone support representative for a software company. John is cheerful and looking forward to better times. He has a job, even if it isn't as rewarding as the one that he lost. Scott, unfortunately, is inactive and depressed. He sees little prospect of improvement and since he has given up searching for work, he is fulfilling his own prophesy. You are what you think What makes two people act so differently in similar circumstances? What makes some people give up when others refuse to quit? (Interestingly, it is Scott who has the more impressive resume.) Bearing in mind that success is never certain, and failure is never permanent, I will argue that the difference lies largely in how these two individuals think about being unemployed and their prospects for the future. Our life is what our thoughts make it.

Extractions: I walked this cemetery in May of 2000, while on vacation in Brimley. Did not have tombstone rubbing equipment with me at the time. When I return in September - I will take with me if anyone is interested in any of the broken stones. There are also other areas that I could not get into with stones. Lots that were fenced and totally overgrown and I will need to take proper clothing to work on them.

Extractions: Cherish your visions; cherish your ideals; cherish the music that stirs in your heart, the beauty that forms in your mind, the loveliness that drapes your purest thoughts, for out of them will grow delightful conditions, all heavenly environment; of these if you but remain true to them, your world will at last be built.."
