Podophyllin Review of the toxicological properties of this agent used primarily to treat warts. http://www.maripoisoncenter.com/ctr/9605podophyllin.html
Extractions: Clinical Toxicology Review is published monthly by the Massachusetts Poison Control System Vol. 18, No. 8 May 1996 Podophyllin is a resin mixture obtained from the dried rhizome and roots of the common plants Podophyllin peltatum (Mayapple or Mandrake) and Podophyllin emodi , which are grown in North America and the Himalayas, respectively. Early American colonists learned of podophyllin from Native Americans who believed the drug to be an effective antidote when applied to snake bites. Since that time podophyllin also has been used as a poison, a cathartic (Carter's Pills), an antithelminthic, and a local antifungal. Interest in podophyllin was renewed in 1942 when Kaplan introduced the use of topical podophyllin in the management of condyloma acuminatum. Today, podophyllin continues to be used worldwide as the first-line treatment for condyloma acuminatum in spite of numerous reports indicating that more efficacious and less toxic therapies exist. Podophyllin also continues to be found in certain cathartic herbal preparations.

Extractions: ardea consulting was established in 1997 to provide science-based consulting services specializing in ecological risk assessments, avian and wildlife toxicology and ecotoxicology. We work with clients to provide technical solutions to address regulatory and other ecological or environmental toxicology issues. Since its founding, ardea consulting has worked principally on evaluating pesticide effects on birds and other wildlife. The experience gained is readily transferable to other contaminant groups. Projects have included field evaluation of potential exposure of wildlife to pesticides, metals, or PCBs, participation in ecological risk assessments, and preparation of research papers on various topics. In the summer of 2001, we relocated f rom Morrisville, Pennsylvania to Woodland, California. Our ecotoxicologists travel as needed; work has been conducted throughout the U.S. and Canada.

Currently, most of our 8300+ terms deal with biochemistry, biotechnology, botany, cell biology and genetics. We also have some terms relating to ecology, limnology, pharmacology, toxicology and medicine. Don't expect to find common or exotic animals here; there are far too many species to cover even a fraction in a resource like this. However, we've included medically- and biotechnologically-relevant organisms such as bacteria, worms, fungi, and some plants. We are adding new terms as quickly as our funding permits. Introduction and Background : Dr. George Lucier, Director, Environmental Toxicology Program (ETP), stated that Congress in 1978 mandated the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) to publish a Report on Carcinogens, and regularly update the Report, which would contain a list of substances (1) which either are known to be human carcinogens or may reasonably anticipated to be human carcinogens, and (2) to which a significant number of persons in the United States are exposed. The NIEHS was assigned responsibility for preparing the report. Between 1978 and 1996, seven reports were published, while the 8 th Report on Carcinogens was published in 1998. Dr. Lucier highlighted several recent activities relevant to the
