Extractions: Youth Advocacy Training WCA has developed an advocacy training curriculum for teens, teaching them the skills they need to organize for change in their own schools and communities. WCA has trained participants in our youth conferences; WCA has also trained members of the Teen Information Program, a group of young people who provide information and referral services to their peers in 14 Westchester high schools. WCA has been invited to provide training for 30 members of the newly formed Westchester Youth Council whose members are to be appointed by County Executive Andrew Spano. The Council will advise the County on a number of issues affecting teens; the council will also develop its own agenda of activities. WCAs training will give the councils members the crucial skills that they will need to make a difference in our community. WCA is happy to entertain requests for the provision of group advocacy training. Further information about our services is available. CLE pursues this goal through participation in litigation, federal and state legislative and administrative advocacy, the provision of technical assistance to attorneys representing students and parents on a fee-for-service basis, and training for attorneys, parents and other advocates.
