In March VTLSP was invited to give testimony before the House Transportation Committee on a bill which would extend the primary safety belt law from age 12 to age 18 and make other changes in the child passenger restraint law (H.142 see below Sarah Jackson talks to the committee about the importance of safety belt use for her peers and tells them of her crash. VTLSP National Rep, Dan Barnard tells the committee members of his observations of teen belt use in his community. Twinfield Union H.S. sophomore Krystian Peduzzi speaks eloquently about peer pressure as it relates to safety belt use. The committee members listen intently and ask lots of questions.
