The two woodcarving rallies provide fun for both carvers and non-carvers. In addition to carving classes, various activities are planned for the non-carvers, including shopping excursions, tours, crafts, exercise/walk times, and lunches-on-the town. The evenings will be filled with pot luck meals, bluegrass music, cards, and games. Oakdale Park, Squaw Valley Carvers, and Nolar River Chippers from Cleburne invite you to the Texas Carving Rally. Guests will enjoy a week of fun and fellowship with fellow woodcarvers. You will have a chance to extend your talents as you learn from others, and you will also be able to share your woodcarving skills as well. Tool vendors will be on site all week. Greetings from Enchanted Creek Studios This creek, nestled high in the Santa Cruz Mountains alongside the central California coast, is the source of many an inspiration. As you explore these pages you'll see the results of a few of them. The studio is located on top of a few large boulders that overlook one of Enchanted Creek's small waterfalls. I, Michael Dunn, have lived here for over twenty years, creating art, working the land, building the studio, and kind of living like a Hobbit. Life here in this seclusion isn't always easy due to its remoteness, but it's a beautiful place and it offers me the the peace and quiet to help the studio and my art evolve in a natural progression. Sometimes the winters are pretty rough, with floods and an occasional snow, but those are often the times when I get the most work done inside, and when I have the opportunity to create some of my favorite pieces. Life is short and so I try to make each day a masterpiece. I hope you enjoy this site and find something that makes your day a little better.
