Every video card, sound card, printer, scanner, software package, you name it. Of course, not all versions of Windows support the same things. Older versions tend to support most older devices and become less likely to support newer devices. And newer versions tend to support most new devices and become less likely to support older devices. It's hardly fair to disdain Windows as a crash prone operating system when the alternatives barely scratch the surface of hardware and software support provided by Windows.
