The best way of doing that is to try someone else's WebQuest with your class. You can find a matrix of ready-made examples at Matrix of Example WebQuests. You can also find a less selective list of WebQuests at WebQuest Collections Become a facile Web searcher. In a WebQuest, you do the work of finding a focused set of good sites for your students rather than having them forage the Web on their own. Searching the Web takes time, so it's wise to develop your searching skills. Two pages that many people have found useful are Seven Steps Toward Better Searching and the Specialized Search Engines and Directories Focus on higher-level thinking. Identify a topic you teach that invites creativity, forces analysis or synthesis, or in some other way requires students to transform information into some new form. Education Resources ~Young Readers Web Quest~What Is A Quest? quests can improve our thinking skills, teach us valuable things about ourselves and others, and OK, so what s this Young Readers web Quest all about? http://www.schools.net.au/edu/webquests/young_readers/QuestExplanation.htm
Extractions: A quest is a search for something important. It is always difficult to find. In tales of old, princesses sent would-be suitors on quests to prove their worthiness. They were commanded to retrieve anything from vital knowledge needed to save the kingdom, to magical or precious objects. Churches have also sent those they deemed worthy, on quests for lost religious icons, such as the Holy Grail. A quest is never easy. There are always challenges and obstacles along the way. These challenges are necessary, because as the questors successfully overcome them, they build up: knowledge, self-confidence and determination. Without these attributes, they would be unable to reach their goal. Thus in a quest, the search is just as important as the finding! Everyone should take on quests during their lives. Whether big or small, quests help to make us better than we were before. Quests can improve our thinking skills, teach us valuable things about ourselves and others, and help us grow into confident people.

Not surprisingly much of what we want to know about the internet is freely available on the Internet. It is a matter of knowing where to go to find it so this is an attempt to dig out some good relevant and worthwhile sites for you that cover ideas about use of the Internet, integration into classroom programmes, good readible background articles and educational news site Want to know more about the Internet how it actually works and what it is? For those of you who are very new to the Internet some of the jargon will be completely incomprehensible. One site that is always useful is the WebTeacher http://www.webteacher.org/macnet/indextc.html which provides technical details for just about everything you would want to know about the web and its functions from emailing through your web browser to FTP and image files and so on Another useful site to develop some Internet knowhow is The Net Users Guidelines and Netiquette http://www.fau.edu/netiquette/net/index.html This site really deals with user responsibility in having access to vast services, sites, systems and people on the Internet. The user is ultimately responsible for his/her actions in accessing network services and it is important that teachers know and understand their responsibilties not only as personal users but when their students are users as well.
