Disaster Model V1.1 - Apolyton Civilization Site Forums I don't think the volcanoe and earthquake disasters could simulate the results of these on their own w ons, but if were picking disasters that would affect a size of http://apolyton.net/forums/Forum21/HTML/000254.html
Extractions: I think you did a good job with the linkage of disasters causing other disasters. Some things you need to change however. Huricanes should also only happen if there is a signifigant amount of oceanic tiles. Not that it will affect anything out there except ships and in the future perhaps some cities, but Hurricanes need this large body of water to form. These rules can be bent for scenerios. Also we're talking per turn in which it is a min. of 1 month? Hurricanes can affect entire coastlines which is deffinatly more than 1 square. Also on earthquakes causing volcanoes will only happen in certain techtonic areas. (Subduction Zones). Also we need to really add another thing for volcanoes (as well as a disaster in and of itself). Landslides and Run-on-Landslides. These would happen with volcanic eruptions, earthquakes or rarely on their own. These only happen in moutanous regions. The reason these are needed I don't think the volcanoe and earthquake disasters could simulate the results of these on their own w/o focing it to happen everytime. You could prob forget regular landslides if u wanted and just worry about run-ons, but if were picking disasters that would affect a size of 1 square signifigantly then run-ons easily do since then can travel for many miles after they reach level land (or uphill even).

Important note Dr. Turi is the only astrologer in the entire world who has unarguably predicted twice the September 11 destruction of the WTC towers in New York, the WA sniper, the fall of Saddam Hussein regime, the SARS deadly virus in Asia and much more dramatic news. Keep in mind that those predictions were always written almost two years prior to the day your see them unfolding on CNN in his yearly

Story by Ian Hirschfeld Footage by Anonymous This just in! Somewhere in Haiti just under two hours ago, a huge volcanoe erupted (See map to the bottom left)! As you can see by the picture to the top left, the lava is rapidly spreading everywhere. This road along with many others have been closed down. This was a very deadly volcanoe that no one ever could have predicted. So far it has spread 20 miles from the origin and is still going. Hopefully this volcanoe takes no more lives than it already has, see chart below. Deaths Injuries Homes Destroyed Cost of Destruction Giant Cat Appears Out of Nowhere Story by Ian Hirschfeld Footage by Local Man Isaac It's unbelievable! A giant cat about 50ft tall has just been spotted in the small town of Humington, PA! So far no injuries or damage has been done by this monstrous animal. Top notch scientists have been sent to check the cat out, which apparently belongs to a lovely couple living in the area. They claim that they let BillyBob (the cat's name) out one day to play and he didn't come home like normal. The next day there was reports of a giant cat and walla, BillyBob turned up.

Because environmentalism has a flawed philosophical basis, Objectivists often act as if that means that there arent any legitimate environmental concerns. Its my contention that there *are* environmental concerns that deserve serious scrutiny when taken in the proper, man-centered context. But the resulting laissez-faire approach to environmental problems will be vastly different from the current statist approach. Kool Whip became the sides of the volcanoes. Those with steep sides were violent explosions, while the ones with gentle slopes resulted from gentle lava flow. Chocolate Syrup served as lava, wile crushed vanilla wafers were the rocks. A cherry served as the vent on top. All were surprised at how good a volcano can taste.
